The playing characters are:

Shade Furr, a somewhat reclusive and suspicious grey fox who's the son of a pawnbroker.

Lavender Brushtail, a female squirrel, whom we do not know much about yet.

Pavit DeColvat, an upper middle-class female mouse who is both friendly and well educated.

Alright, so I've done RPs before a long while back on another forum, and I thought I'd like to try one here and see how it goes. :) Sounds like it would be a fun way for me to get to know the community a bit more.

A brief history of Mosfleur (Really brief)

The time is of a new era, the beginning of the third cycle of the second millenia. Raywell city is the bustling capital of government and commerce in the grand nation of Mosfleur. Over centuries of warfare and gradual settlement, this nation came into existence, built up around the historical site of the Redwall abbey, which is now the site of a large red-stone museum. What brought about these changes that made the nation what it is today? Some say it was inevitable after the dawn of the discovery of electricity, brought about by Salamandastron's own Belflamin Haremen. Others say it was bound to happen as the inhabitants of old Redwall had continued to win war after war, the inhabitants off all the land around them eventually hearing tale of their success, and flooding to the lands around the abbey, quickly turning it into a successful city of trade.

Growing outwards from the abbey and the mountain, the mass of the settlements eventually drove all violent vermin from the country, a process which took over a century, ending in the Great Purge several centuries ago. Nowadays, descendants of the vermin tribes still exist within the cities of Mosfleur: Reywell, Salamstron, and Seynin. It was a slow struggle, but citizens of the nation eventually felt it was time to forgive their tribes of the actions of their ancestors, and allow them freely into the cities. Now, they are of lower class in this land, often working in underground business and small gangs of thugs. There are of course those that are more successful, who have worked and dealt their way to the top of corporate ladders, often manipulating systems with bribes and underhanded deals. It is few and far between you encounter an honest-living descendant of vermin, but there are still plenty of them, mostly existing within the borders of Seynin, the religious center of Mosfleur, where the many churches of Martin reside.

As for Salamstron, it is now Mosfleur's primary port city, which trades with the many nations across the sea, as being the primary holding of Mosfleur's military and navy. These institutions are held within the city's capital building, the mountain itself, now fitted with many concrete and iron structures which jut out from the long dead volcano, the mountain itself having been filled with iron beams and concrete to allow it to continue to support itself.

Now, in this new cycle, Mosfleur is on the verge of war with the Otter-ruled nation across the sea, as trade treaties and other shadowed political deals have grown sour. But we will not be focusing on this event, rather, the lives of a few individuals, whom exist in this new world. Will their lives be sent wild into grand adventure, will they meet an unfortunate and bitter end within the dark corners of the cities, or will they merely go on to live normal, uneventful lives as the world moves forward around them?

(Looking for no more than 3 other people. You may only have one character whom you control, however if your character has family members or some other relation that is significant to their character, you may control the actions of those characters as long as they are in scene, but do not drag them along with your primary character.)

As soon as I have some time this evening, I will try to put together my own character sheet. The format with which you use is not too important, as long as you provide a good idea as to your character's history, personality, and appearance.

(Also, yes, the names of the country and cities are manipulated versions of the names of places and landmarks in the original series XD my logic being those names formed as corruptions of the original ones.)

This is. . . interesting, to say the least. I don't know if I'll join this because I'm trying not to get bogged down by joining too many, but we'll see.

Ah, well thanks for taking a look anyways :) I was just about to post my character sheet.

Name: Shade Furr

Species: Grey Fox

Background: Living in downtown Raywell city, Shade is the son of a small family of pawnbrokers. He is usually found working in his family's small pawnshop, caring for the store and keeping stock of the merchandise. Occasionally he and his family get requests for certain items in their pawnshop that are not exactly what one would call "proper" for a store to be keeping in its holdings, and Shade is usually the one sent into the back with the customers to see these deals out.
Shade and his family are actually descendants of a very old line of fox known as "Night Thorn". This was a very old tribe of fox kin, and their tribe was one of the first accounts in history of a very large number of fox actually grouping together, rather than splitting apart to attempt to manipulate other creatures. After a time of strife and civil dispute between members of the Night Thorn tribe, the tribe split into two. One of these halves of the tribe actually came to the defense of the age old Redwall Abbey when the other half of their tribe (also the larger half), lead an attempt at conquering the Abbey. Since that point in history, fox of the Night Thorn tribe were well respected among Redwallers, and all throughout history, even through the Great Purge, and to this very day. (Descendants of the Night Thorn fox are distinctive due to their unusual grey fur)

Appearance: Shade Furr is a tall and slender fox, his fur being a bit of a darker shade of grey than his other family members, his eyes are a bright yellow. He is most often seen wearing a black cloak, his excuse for doing so being so he doesn't have to worry about rain, but in all honesty he just thinks the cloak looks cool. His ears come to a sharp point, his nails are always filed and devoid of sharp points (as the culture of this age has made it customary for animals with claws to file them down). His limbs are also thin and lanky, a bit of a tell that he doesn't have a lot of time for exercise.

Personality: Shade is over all friendly and kind hearted, although, due to his family trade he can be hard pressed to trust new individuals. Despite this, he is kind to new faces, typically a farce he puts on, as to not let them be aware of his lack of trust. Shade is diligent in his work and tirelessly cares for the shop his family owns, but in his free time he hangs out in his bedroom in the back of the shop and finds interesting things to do on his family's bulky computer. That being said, Shade enjoys technology, always being fascinated by all the new innovations that have come about in what is considered the "dawn of the internet" in this society.

(So I kind of divulged some more history of the world in this post. I suppose it's okay for everyone else to do that too, so long as it doesn't clash with anyone else's history, or the book series, which shouldn't be too hard because it's easy to just say all this history comes after the books, lol)

Another Brushtail? Are she and Arya related? If so, in which way?

I would like to join If that is Ok. ;D I still need to come up with a character though. Will post that shortly...

Edit:

Name: Pavit DeColvat
Species: Mouse
Gender: Female
Age: 17
Appearance: Light gray fur, tall for a a mouse and slender. A tuft of fur falls across her forehead and she is constantly moving it out of her eyes. She has a small pink nose and a long thin tail of a matching color (Some mice find this attractive). She wears a white blouse and a navy blue pleated skirt. She wears a pair of glasses (NOT the big bulky geeky kind) and some times she has two small stud earnings. She wears high knee white socks and black shoos. Also some times carries round a satchel bag, she can put her lap top in it or various other things.
Personality: Smart, friendly, outgoing, leader type (Mostly with school projects), strongly opinionated,
Skills:  The smart intellectual type, She is a good learner, and a leader.
Background: Pavit lives in a nice little house in the suburbs around Raywell city. She grew up in an well off family of 5, her mother, her father and 2 little sisters of 9 and 5. She has always been good at school and has now been accepted into, and received a scholarship for, The Raywell Institution of Learning one of the best collages in Mosfleur. It is said that the collage was built on the very spot that the fabled Brockhall had been. Though who is to say how accurate this is ;). She herself is actively involved in many things at her school. She has her own laptop to help with this (and yes she takes many things for granted).
I am back... sort of... maybe... Hi?

I've got my eye here, though the character limit could pose some issues.

Just so you know, this era has more advanced technology, to they have guns. If you want to maybe have a modern composite bow that would be cool, although toting classic Redwall weapons might seem a little out of place ;p you can do what you want but just a suggestion.

Nice background! However I will say that I did mention in my OP that Redwall was turned into a museum XD

Go ahead and post, in the end I'll either decide who made the best character sheets, or go by who posted first, but I really don't want to go beyond 4 people (including myself) because I think adding more people will make the RP begin to become unfocused and diluted.

The Skarzs

What he means is more characters per person, I believe.

Like I said It was a marketing ploy  ;).  Not necessarily true. However if the origin of the museum is well known then I can change it.

Are there any significant landmarks that were close to Redwall you can think of that would sound good? :p In the books, were St.Ninian and Redwall relatively close to each other? Because I imagine Seynin city, despite its name being a corruption of the name St.Ninian, isn't actually built around the original Church.

Oh is that what he means? Hmm, I don't know, people controlling multiple characters just seems like it could get out of hand, but I suppose if it's really really significant to his character, I could let one instance of it slide.

ALSO! I decided the fairest thing to do is to include people who sign-up first. We already have 2 people who are not me signed-up, so I will let one more person sign up before getting the RP started.

The Skarzs

You should see the other RPs; many people have two characters and aren't too bogged down with the haul. It really depends on the RP experience a person has.
In the end, it's up to the GM.
