It seems that a lot of people have changed their picture in the last two weeks? Does anybody else see this?

This may have something to do with it: Halloween on the Forum! I know I changed mine for Halloween.

Most of us are changing our pictures and mannerisms for Halloween. Halloween, and....murder.
