Hello everyone, I thought I would start a topic for poems and thoughts that I had written; a collection of sorts. If you wish, you can request a poem about a specific thing, and I will do my best to write about it.

The Wanderer
The Wanderer

I wish I could show you what's inside

In my heart,

In my mind.

Why? Don't ask.

For answers have not been found.

All around, in every place

I see them all, face to face.

Normal.

Doing what they do best.

Yet I am not.

Yes, they have their own differences.

They are individuals.

But still, I am different.

I am the quiet,

I am the loud,

I am the keeper of the peace,

I am the obnoxious,

I am the one secluded in darkness,

I am the bringer of glorious light,

I am the loving,

I am the cruel,

I am everything,

I am nothing.

What am I?

I am the confused.

I am the troubled.

You see them,

comfortable in their own lives.

You see where they will go.

What best suits them.

But I am too much,

And yet too little.

Nothing seems to fit just right.

Why could I not be like them?

They say "There is a Plan for your life"

But what? For better or for worse?

What does this bring? This confusion and chaos?

This unharmonious clash of emotions, wills,

Of dreams and of passions?

By the seaside stands a fated wanderer

Staring out into the night.

Where is he going? What will he do?

No one can say.

Not even he.

Ballad of the Sky
Ballad of the Sky

The mountains, the forests, the sea;

What would they be without the sky?

That endless crown to all of nature,

With a veil of lace and a glourious gem,

Then set with the finest diamonds,

With the face of a monarch.

The sky is above all.

It is the master painter,

Creating new colors and patterns each night.

The sea, though glorious, only reflects it.

The trees, though ageless, only yearn for its tears.

The mountains, though mighty, can only touch it

With their fingertips.

One can get lost in the sky,

Though still on the ground.

Where does it start?

Where does it stop?

It does not.

It goes on, on, on

Like the ages.

In Defense of the Night
In Defense of the Night

"Don't be out after dark!" they say,

"Be careful, it's dark out!"

Like it is something to be feared.

Night.

"That's when bad people roam the streets!"

But without it, how lost we would be.

Everything is in its balance.

The cold has the heat,

the despair has the rejoicing

and so the day has the night.

The sun cannot shine forever;

our world would not thrive.

There is a time to appreciate the lesser things.

That is night.

For without the sun, the stars circle the earth;

previously hidden.

How lonely the moon would look

If it were always lost in a sea of blue,

Choking its splendor.

The night is a part of nature.

So do not fear the dark,

For without it, no light can shine.

An Ode to Poetry
An Ode to Poetry

A dancer, a spell caster, a weaver of tales;

The graceful poem glides through the ages.

Timeless as the stones, unnoticed as the shadow.

Valuable as a precious gem is the wisdom hidden inside,

But the sun is setting on its golden age.

Unappreciated, ignored, outcast,

Only to be carried on by a select few.

The poem can free one's heart,

Removing damaged emotions in its wake.

But the poem, humble in nature,

Is destined to retain its shun.

For, if it was widely accepted,

It would lose its very nature:

That stunning radiance that only few can see.

Feeling it pours out

Like a spring of fresh water to the thirsty soul.

A spring soon to dry out

If too large a number were to drink from its depths.

Those who do not give this gift a second glace

Bring an inevitable curse upon themselves,

But an invaluable blessing to those who relish in it.

Time
Time

Try as it might,

Mankind can not capture time.

Those structures set to measure the revolutions

Of the stars are futile,

They vainly chase them along.

Some who think great thoughts

Have their flaws.

Some have dared to doubt its existence.

How could one?

While it may not be measured

By any earthly instrument,

Its properties hidden,

It is real as the things it changes.

One can not assume that the trees merely appeared,

Or that one is born old.

Some loathe it; they claim it is against them.

If you are wise, you will see its true form.

Do not trifle with it,

It is too dear a thing to be wasted so.

Instead, treasure every moment as if it were the last.

The strong, deep voice of the ages

Sings on, as it has since the start.

Often its meaning hidden to us,

The resounding harmony rolls on,

As it will until the end.

Plugg, I like it! :D You are truly talented! Did you also write the poem in your signature? And the one in your coming back thread?

Thanks, MatthiasMan, for the avatar!

Thank you. :) Yes to all of those, but I wouldn't really call my signature a poem; more of short sayings.

Skyblade

Wow, very nice ^^ Do you think you can take a request for a poem about the sky? (I like the sky, obviously)

Thanks, MatthiasMan, for the avatar!

Hm, I composed a Redwall song. It's... Strange. Similar to a dirge song or the like.

Some may die in the cold,
Some by die by the fire,
But all will die with a flame of love in their heart

Some may die with friend,
Some may die with foe,
But all will die with battle, be it inside or outside

Some may die soon,
Some may die later,
But when they do, they will die having peace with themselves
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.

I wrote some poems based on Norse mythology, they're not great but if people want to see them I'd be happy to post them
"In the meantime, no one should roam the camp alone. Use the buddy system."
"Understood." Will looked at Nico. "Will you be my buddy?"
"You're a dork," Nico announced.

Ballad of the Sky for Skyblade is done. I also wrote another poem, In Defense of the Night. (See first post.)

That sounds interesting, but I would probably not be able to understand them because I know little about Norse mythology.

Skyblade

It's so beautiful, like the actual sky :) Thank you so much, Plugg. I also like the other poem you put up. You are talented and have wonderful insight. I enjoy reading your work and posts. Keep being amazing.

Dreams, dreams are untapped and writhing. How much more real are dreams than that paltry existence which we now call reality? How shall we ascend to that which humanity is destined? By mastering the dreamworld of course. That is how, my pupils, that is how.

Wot, wot!

Wow  :o Plugg, that's some amazing poetry!!! You're really talented!
"Get him! Grab that spy! I want his head!"
Basil chuckled. "What's the matter? Isn't your own head good enough? No, I don't suppose it is. Ugly-looking brute, aren't you?" -Basil to Cluny the Scourge (Redwall)

"The second you change "I can't" into "why not", you can do anything in the world."

Skyblade

Well said, Wot ^.^

Can't wait for more, by the way!

Thanks, MatthiasMan, for the avatar!

Kitsune

Thanks, as always. New poetry posted!
