Very cool, very neat threads. I've always wanted to start a miniature army and customize it and stuff, but I've always been horrified by the prices.
I'm a Skaven and Bretonnia fan myself.

@LT Sandpaw Ebay has a TON of stuff for very cheap prices, and many retailers from the UK offer Games Workshop products for 25% off if you're in the UK or EU.

Bretonnia's been discontinued, but they may be coming back in 2016 and you can always use cheap historical minis, like Perry Miniatures and Fireforge Games. (Fireforge isn't that much cheaper, but still)
