Daylight savings time is evil incarnate.

YES. YES YES YES.

Daylight Savings Time makes perfect sense and I have no problem with it.

As the year goes on, the amount of daylight available changes at certain times of day. By making the simple adjustment of one hour twice a year, we can keep it pretty much consistent with the hour of the day throughout the year. This protects people's schedules and ensures that 5 PM in August is much the same as 5 PM in March.

It's true that people *could* simply get up earlier or later, but what's worse, changing your clocks once a year, or changing everyone's schedules everywhere?

Changing your clock is really pretty much changing your schedule.

But okay.

James Gryphon

Functionally, yes. But mentally is something else.

Or we could all stop being afraid of going out if it's still dark and vice versa. People with jobs dependent on sunlight get up with the sun anyway.

Springing forward statistically leads to an increase in accidents and a decrease in productivity because people have less sleep, so it's really detrimental.
Only actions can speak the truth.

Kitsune

At Panera for several hours. Sigh.

Good thing time is an illusion, hey?

While it may be useful in some states, others, like my own, don't require it to function. In fact, I think we would all function better without it.
If it was such a good idea, every state would do it.
Let's all follow Arizona's example.
