Ahem! Forgetting someone, are we?

Well, to be honest, Austrialia didn't play that large of a part in WWII, but your choice.

France.

Can we like have actual tactical battles? Because just going '50-50 no matter how many troops or even if your commander is completely untrained' seems, frankly, stupid. Not to mention the complete lack of tactics. We can't play this properly if the global tactics scale used during the world wars has been simplified down to '50-50 unless you get your friend to help'

That was kind of what I intended by by posting the tactics for the time. Of course, Sand will end up using the Blitzkrieg tactic, etc.. There won't be the hectic takeovers of the 1700 topic (as I mentioned earlier)

Oh, and I think we should wait and see if Russai participates in the Polish attack or not. Banya might want to veer away from history.

Blaggut

I want Sweden instead.

I'll take the US if Groddil gets Australia

Take America. Sweden goes to Bonaparty.

In the wake of the start of the German invasion of Poland, Britain declares war on Germany and any other countries involved or soon to be involved in the invasion of Poland. Evacuation of women and children from large cities begins, and the British Expeditionary Force moves to France. The hundreds of aircraft produced are sent to airbases all along the English Channel to repel any air attacks by the Germans. The British war machine grinds into action, ready to stop Germany from advancing into France.

Limited troops on the Western border is a large concern for the German military. Fuhrer Sandpaw fellow the suggestions of his commanders orders his Romanian allies to dispatch large numbers of troops across the Western line in hopes of stalling any incursion of the Western allies. Furthermore any Germans from around the world are commanded to return and join the Fatherland. Surprisingly large migrations of Aryans travel from all over the world to bring aid to Germany.

Meanwhile the invasion of Poland continues as planned. Massive portions of Eastern Poland has already fallen to the German invaders. They continue to press onward, much of the Polish army has already been eradicated, and the conquerors march unhindered.

Confident in his soldiers' abilities Fuhrer Sandpaw does little to appease the French Republic, and simply withdraws all Embassy members from the nation. In Great Britain the German ambassadors continue their talks, trying to convince the British in joining them in their war against all those who aren't Aryans.

Prime Minister Sagetip gives the German ambassadors 48 hours to leave the country or they will be used as hostages, possibly killed.

The BEF lands at Boulogne and spreads out, trying to get to cities and defend railroad stations to better facilitate transportation across France.

OOC: This is more like Britain and Germany at war,  :P

IC:

The storming of Warsaw sees an end to the Polish invasion. Two thirds of Poland are now under German control. Horrible atrocities are committed on so called lesser Slavs. The Polish people are brutally kept under a strict regime, and young men are rounded up to be used as cannon fodder. Fuhrer Sandpaw turns his gaze west.

Wehrmacht assembles after many long months of trains rides. The 1st German Joint Army under the direct command of Supreme Commander Rommel masses in Western Germany staring across at France. Thousands of Panzer divisions and bloodied German veterans prepare to pour into France. Overhead the impressive Luftwaffe flies overhead daring anyone to try and attack the German ground troops. Farther South the 3rd German Army gathers in Italy marching steadily towards Africa.

Sparked by the Embassy members reports that Great Britain will have no part in their Third Reich German Subs begin an extensive campaign against British shipping, making sure to target troops ships, and trade vessels.

OOC: If someone doesn't take France soon then we'll joint RP the French troops.

The BEF moves to reinforce the Maginot line. The RAF starts flying patrols over France, but there are frequent intervals of no air cover while the squads change shifts and refuel.

Wylder Treejumper

President Treejumper worriedly contemplated the conflict across the Atlantic. The great powers of Europe were once again aligning for conflict, and he and his advisers had discussed the unwelcome possibility of a second Great War. He was no European partisan. America's stated policy and general consensus was to let the fool Europeans kill each other all they wanted. Yet that had also been the Wilson Administration's position... and somehow, someway, the United States was pulled into a European war anyways. There were already some this side of the Atlantic decrying Fuhrer Sandpaw's fascist ideas and calling for involvement- and he mostly agreed with their ideas, if not their proposed actions- but the American people were not ready for another war.

Europeans have a way of messing up the world, he thought. Hopefully, this time will be an exception.

He was not terribly optimistic on that point.

Tyrannical speeches sweep across Germany, and Austria. Fuhrer Sandpaw rallies the angry people of Germany and points out the outrageous humiliations that the Treaty of Versailles had brought to their nation. Blaming the lesser French and promising to bring them under the German heel the Fuhrer declares open war against France, and consequently, Britain.

However war isn't all that it seems. Meeting with his top Field Marshals Fuhrer Sandpaw outlines his plans to invade the French Homeland, Operation Grastenvien. The invasion would be directed by Field Marshal Gunther, who would take over from Rommel who would change course and lead the invasion of Africa.

Gunther is a shrewd commander, and sets his plans well. On May 17, 1940 the Germans attack. Gunther having been concerned with the Maginot line avoids it completely. two thirds of his army sweeps through Belgium and the Netherlands angling towards France, while the smaller portion invades through Italy.

Switzerland is left alone to be used as a holiday spot for German officers.

Gunther's plan is simple, rear attack the BEF and French Divisions at the Maginot line, destroy them utterly, then move on to conquer the rest of France. The Joint German Army, supported by Austrians, Romanians, and Italians press forward prepared to open up the war against Britain and France.
