Where do vermin get weapons? For that matter, where does anybody get weapons? The only source of weapons I know of is Salamandastron, but that can't be the source of every weapon in the series.

Well, iron must be mined from somewhere. The Northlands are hardly talked about, except to say that they are mountainous, so it is possible that that is a viable source of metal, more for vermin, since they often come from the north.
The eastern cliffs also seem to be a source of materials, as they were a fault line and dragged up minerals from deep below. Both goodbeasts and bad beasts alike would probably go there.
Southsward is well enough populated that it shouldn't be unthinkable to figure that they had some mines about, especially with the moles.
Also, the moles would probably be the biggest suppliers of ore, though it isn't talked about, because of their subterranean prowess. That could be where woodlanders and goodbeasts get their metal, and coal, but vermin would either have to steal from them or make their own.
