"We've got too try," Petu insisted thumping his hind foot in anticipation. "C'mon lets get started right away, before those vermin come loo- Aaaaaah!" At that moment a small flock of massive, black birds rocketed out of the sky, screeching in bloodlust. They were only four in number and they had potentially overstepped themselves, attacking close to the cabin, and without the support of ground beasts, making them easy targets to an archer. Still they were vicious attackers, launching themselves in unprecedented hunger upon their would be prey.

One snagged Petu's ear forcing the rabbit to the ground. Petu kicked and struggled yelling for help all the while.

Staring at Rapshade incredulously Bracklew shook his head, swallowing back a furious screech of anger. He was better off without his paw, ridiculous, it was like saying one should remove their tail because it serves no purpose. Still he didn't have the energy to throw a fit, and it would get him nowhere.
"I ought to thank you," Bracklew managed, he swayed feeling lightheaded from just speaking. "But I don't I can stomach it, at least not yet." His gaze trailed down to the paw laying a short distance away where it had fallen. Feeling sick Bracklew quickly looked away.

"Could you... I dunno, bury it or something?" He asked awkwardly jerking his head towards the dismembered paw. "Throw it in a fire, anything, just please don't leave it there."

"Not again!"

Asher felt his fur getting tugged at and his bow coming off his shoulders. Lashing out with his dirk the squirrel caught on on the foot. Squawking, the bird lifted off higher as the other assaulted the group. "Get inside the cabin," yelled Asher. "They'll have a harder time getting us in there.

I am the captain of my soul.

"Um, well...mmh..." Rapshade swallowed back some blood in his throat and chuckled sheepishly, glancing quickly at the paw and back at Bracklew. "Gahhh, y'know, I can't bring myself t' pick that up...but." He noticed Mixy's sword at Bracklew's feet and swept it up, feeling slightly tempted to do something more with it than just move the squirrel's paw--but that is what he did, scrape the thing out of the tent and try not to look at it.

"You owe me!" The ferret gagged, shuddering and waving his paws to ward off that creepy feeling he was getting. "I hope I'll never be able to understand...how you must feel. Aaghh!"
Rapshade let out a long breath and at last pointed the sword at Bracklew.
He grinned mischievously, narrowing his eyes. "If y' want t' owe me more, I'll sever the ropes."

"Black turkeys are coming outta the sky! Yaaaaaaahh!" Fang shrieked, racing for cover in the cabin.
Duncan, however, pulled out his sword and slashed at a nearby crow, aiming for the wings.

Grenlik and his scouts had now surrounded the cabin in the woods. The weasel jerked his head towards the squirrel and rabbit floundering with the crows, then the door.
"If we get inside, we can ambush them. Plus, if we hold the structure, they can't run from the crows."
The other vermin nodded, readying their weapons. Grenlik raised his spear and charged, leaping over Petu's prone form and diving into the cabin, followed shortly by the others. In the gloom, Grenlik made out the large shape of Ava and gulped. He backed away, pushing the other scouts in front of him.
"Badger...KILL IT!"
One of the scouts, a rat, swung a large, rusty cutlass at Ava.

Hickory

Ava thrust forward with her right paw and hit the rat's sword paw, sending his blade into the wall over her head. Neatly disarming the vermin she sent the rat cannoning out through the entrance, onto a ferret's spear. "Come and get me..." she growled.

Grenlik shoved another rat, this time wielding a large sickle, towards Ava. While she was distracted with him, the weasel thrust towards her stomach with his spear.

"Owe you," It took Bracklew only a second to decide. Holding up his paw he nodded hurriedly. "Alright, cut the ropes."

With a screech the wounded crow fluttered away from Duncan, its wings spurting blood. One of the squirrel's hurled a javelin spearing a third crow through the throat. It fell twitching miserably in heap of crimson and feathers.

Petu's struggles grew fainter as his assailant continued to peck at his head. The rabbit squealed in pain, still shouting for all he was worth. "Don't go inna cabin, they're all over. Run for your life!"

Thrusting his dirk straight through the crow's skull, Asher offered a paw to Petu. "Get up!"

OOC: By the way, someone else will do Ava.

BIC:

Twisting aside Ava knocked the legs out from under the rat and toppled him. Dodging the spear thrust she made to elbow Grenlik in the chest.

"Thanks," Petu grunted allowing Asher to pull him to his footpaws. His head was bleeding badly, but it wasn't enough to keep the energetic rabbit off his feet. Scooping up an abandoned dagger Petu took up a fighting stance standing next to the squirrel warrior.

"We gotta get Ava out of the cabin, before we get surrounded." He cried his heart beating rapidly, on the edge of a panic breakdown.. "She'll get killed in there on her own."

OOC: Mkey Dokey. ;)

BIC: Grenlik was knocked back by the sheer force of Ava's arm. He shuffled backwards, behind the last of the scouts, before grabbing his spear and dashing outside. He was greeted with a scene of crows and chaos. A small ferret, thrown from the cabin, landing atop the weasel's spear. Grenlik winced, pulling his weapon from his slain brethren. The badger was too strong a target, but that rabbit looked game. Problem was, he had a squirrel with him. Grenlik pulled a dagger from the slain ferret's belt and rushed towards Fangfang. He thrust the dagger into the golden rat's paws.
"Why're ye runnin', mate? 'Elp me kill the rabbit 'n' treejumper!"

Ashleg

Duncan cut the crow down and ran up to Petu, watching as the vermin rushed in, a ferret and a wildcat in the lead.
"Who should help Ava?" He asked frantically.

Fang was trying to sneak away through the crowd when Grenlik noticed him, quailing in fear as he and glanced down at the weapon in his paws.
"I can't do that, they're so nice!"

--

Rapshade slashed with the sword, slicing through the ropes that bound Bracklew.
They slid down and crumpled on the ground.
Smirking, he tossed the thing at the squirrel and it embedded itself in the dirt twixt his footpaws.
"If y' still want t' kill me, now's your chance. Otherwise, I'll be going...unless you don't want me to?"

Hickory

"I'll help myself," rumbled the badger, who had punched, bitten and kicked her way out of the shed. Standing next to Duncan she lifted a long sword from a dead stoat and held it firmly. "We need to get an opening so Fangfang and the rest can get through to the camp! Let's see if we can move the fighting into the woods, then we'll have more of an advantage."

Grenlik growled.
"Nice? They're woodlanders. The enemy. If ye don't kill 'em, Alfhild'll gut yer. Unless, yer a deserter...Aye, yer a filthy traitor, aren't ye? I'LL GUT YE INSTEAD!"
The weasel thrust his spear towards Fangfang.
