In Moledeep, the Vigil soldiers had formed into ranks near one of the secret exits. Charm pulled on the rope until one of the cave-ins lifted into the roof. She tied it off and assigned the old vole to close the exit behind them.
"Troops! Advance!"
The soldiers slowly began to move, rank by rank, until the whole army was outside the cave. Mortembell and Shadomay watchd them leave.
"Seems like a small army."
"I think One-Ear's got some of the soldiers with him somewhere else."
"I just hope that they get rid of these vermin, once an' for all."
"Aye."

Hickory

"As you wish," replied Fardan, dashing forward and sweeping his sword to the side in an attempt to push Duncan's blade out of the way.

I am the captain of my soul.

OOC-
Grodds, post with One please.
IC-
Duncan was strong and firmly held his blade in place.
"Petu, get him from behind, to knock him out."

Hickory

The wildcat snarled, swinging his blade and body towards Petu. The rabbit would be an easier target.

OOC: So I assume Fardan will overpower them sooner or later?

OOC: Or he could surrender. >:D

Wincing Petu retreated, rubbing his bleeding nose with his free paw. Fardan had managed to leave a small scratch when he spun, and threatened to do more damaged as he advanced. Petu was no great fencer, nor was he particularly strong and he waved his sword wildly out in front of himself trying to fend Fardan off.
"Help me Duncan!" He screamed as he slipped on the snow, falling clumsily on his tail.

Duncan gasped and leaped in front of Petu, standing protectively over him.
"Get up, friend," he whispered before turning back to Fardan and lunging at him.

Within seconds the tip of Fardan's rapier tickled Petu's neck. "One move and the rabbit gets it," threatened the wildcat, smiling maliciously at Duncan. "You're not that quick."

OOC-
Fardan's battle is at a good point where I would just need to see if Grodd wants to do anything with the Vigil and then I can have Alfhild make her claim.

OOC: Two words. Exam week.

"I'm not moving," Petu promised rather quickly, as he stared cross-eyed at the sword point that hovered half an inch from his jugular. He looked pleadingly over at Duncan, silently asking the hare for help or advice in the sticky situation.

A skeleton crew of vermin covered the wall tops, hiding just below the battlements their spears and swords laying on the ground beside them. More then one clutched a crossbow, or sling as they waited for the Vigil to appear from the woodlands. Down below the destroyed gates had been hastily reinforced with the dissembled battering rams and ladders, while ferrets armed with pikes stood ready to force back any incursion.

Fastooth moved along the line, whispering encouragement to the silent warriors, even as the battle raged on behind them on the abbey lawns. "Stay low mates, let em come right up ter th' gates. Then make 'em look like 'edgepigs wit' them arrows n' bolts. Aim fer any foxes or otters mixed in, their leader is a fox, an' possibly an otter. If'n ye can't see either o' those aim fer th' ones giving orders. Le's show these foolish woodlanders oo' owns these woods now."

"Fardan, Fardan."
Duncan slid around the wildcat, clicking his teeth disapprovingly.
He tapped his dagger slowly.
"What makes you think I'll stop attacking if you threaten to kill that rabbit? He means nothing to me. If you want to hurt me, you'll have to find another way."
The hare sent Petu a reassuring look as he passed by him, as to let him know he didn't mean it.
But if he didn't want Fardan to hurt Petu he had to pretend his friend was worthless.
