But I didn't know that it was really classified as a pie, I thought they just called it that. (Like how Koalas are called bears although they aren't!)

The majority of pies don't have meat in them...or vegetables. 
Cherry? Apple? Key lime? Heck, there's chocolate and mint pie. What're you on about? XD
