...Most cartoons today are, yes, kinda silly in general. I wouldn't say there's any kind of moral lesson in almost any kid's cartoons... Not that there has to be. But also, a lot of it just seems cheesy. Like, Looney Tunes is awesome. The one exception I'm familiar with would be the Avatar series- Not blue people, bending. I quite like the mix of deep things and absurdly silly things. The second series is a little more dark, and I think teen-oriented... :P

At my local library, however, the Redwall books are considered young adult books
My library considers them teen books too.

That's kindof how I got started on the Redwall series, myself. In 4th grade, one day when my class went to our school's library, the librarian sat us down at the beginning of the session and said that there was this "Young Adult" genre where the books had more mature content than the rest of the stuff in the library; if we wanted to explore those books, we could go ahead.

And I believe that's when I found Outcast of Redwall. And from there, well...

I thinks it's ( the redwall tv series) is great for little kids like 5&6 years old who r just starting reading! But I think the series is VERY cheesey and NOT true to the books!!! But I'm glad they made it! ( for little kids!)
I love my bunny Benny, and my dogs max & Bella
REDWALL IS THE BEST

I'm a teen and I think it's pretty good. Except for Skalrag's tickle torture, and those episodes they added that weren't in the books.

That only happened in the adption of Redwall (book).

Life is too short to rush through it.

they probably ran out of money, which stinks. I really was good

I think it was more that they didn't have enough money to continue it.

Life is too short to rush through it.

I always wondered where you could by it.Wish more people knew about redwall,I was at the beach once and instead of making a sand castle I made a 3-d map of mossflower, redwall, etc. some boy walked by saw it and asked me if it was redwall I said yes and he ran and got his dad and showed it to him.He was telling his dad all about redwall abbey.I left it there I hope more people saw it! :)
That's really awesome ^-^

Anyway, to answer the question in the original post...someone might have already said this before but I'm too lazy to check all seven pages, but I remember reading somewhere that nobody was willing to put up the money for a fourth season.  Rather disappointing, honesly :(

I don't know if I have mentioned this on here before or not, but what really dooms or handicaps a Redwall t.v. series or movie is target audience. If you made a Redwall t.v. series or movie that was exactly like the book, given the amount of violence and gore it would at a bare minimum be PG14 or 14A and to pull that kind of rating off it would probably have to tone down on the violence a bit. I could also see a Redwall t.v. series or movie, following the books to the T, being rated R or AO. But adults and teens are not going to watch an adventure movie which revolves around talking animals.

Now creating a kid's t.v. series or movie is problematic because even the extremely watered down violence depicted on original t.v. series would probably not be allowed to air due to concerns of excessive violence. There is only some much you can dilute the series before it would lost the spirit Jacques' writing.

It might've been because lots of people thought it wasn't serious enough

That wouldn't make too much sense, since the target audience of the series was very clear (younger children). Demographically the show's "lack of seriousness" would make sense. I feel the show's cancellation had more to do with the commercial side of things...

One-Eye the wildcat

The concept was good, but it obviously did not have the same target audience as the books. Ie, in the books, gulo the savage ATE some young hares alive!, while the tv show did not show a single death.

"Introduce a little anarchy. Upset the established order, and everything becomes chaos. I'm an agent of chaos."

Well, they could've made it similar to watership down, and just take the really bad stuff out
