Some argue that Hufflepuff is a friendlier Slytherin/Slytherin is Hufflepuff's dark mirror.

And is there anything wrong with Slytherin? In canon, it's bashed, and fanon often overhypes it, but the middle ground isn't too bad. Plus it's not like Hufflepuff are a bunch of angels: CoS and GoF demonstrate that.
