@Jukk, the thing about the Hillary sign in a metal cage is hilarious.

I'm not suprised that there were no Hillary signs near where Peo lives; it is a red state and a mostly rural one, too. I saw countless Trump signs and banners while driving through the countryside in my state a month ago; that's the way rural areas lean. All the counties with major cities and universities, though, went blue. That's a general and predictable trend; large and diverse concentrations of people tend to be more open-minded and accepting. I honestly expected Trump to win the election - in our lifetimes, the Presidency has tended to go back and forth between the major parties. I just didn't want it. People are crying because they're upset and scared, not because they're sore losers. Laci Green, on the other hand...My university had a vigil, which was great for standing together and reminding the Arab and Punjabi and Latina and all other students that their education will not be interrupted, this campus is a safe space and they belong here, and none of us will stand by and allow words or acts of hate. I don't agree with students being excused from class for the week because they can't handle it, though, because they should continue living their normal lives. But I agree with Ashe on this, that not many of the promises made during the campaign will be kept, hopefully.
Thanks for posting that, Jet. Well said.

*looks up Laci Green*  She sounds so... dirty, for lack of a better term.

Its one thing to be scared, and concerned. Both of which I can understand because people have been listening to the mainstream media, and they haven't been exactly friendly towards Trump.

But threatening to leave the country, and assassination threats of people who voted differently, attacking people, and burning cars and the flag, that's a bit much. You can't blame that on concern, or even fear, that's something else entirely.

I like how democracy is all fine and dandy, unless the other side wins. And that's a blanket statement. I think all sides are guilty of it. Not just the people who are rioting and beating up Trump supporters. There are people from the right who are calling Hillary all sorts of things, and probably wouldn't be taking a loss very well either.

Oh.  I thought at first that you meant a Malec story you'd written.  You've been working on one for the past few months, right?

I don't really use FF.Net anymore, as I prefer Ao3. And yes, yes I have. Past year, if you really want to know. It's supposed to be a Christmas present.

They ruined Denethor in the LOTR movies. Instead of being a proud, stern, and valiant man he's some mopey nutjob.

Eh, I wouldn't go as far as that. He just p[layed favorites too much. Also, if I remember correctly, he went extremely loopy in the books, as well.

The first reaction one gets when you see him in the movies is a broken man, already driven mad by grief. In the books, at first you could see that he was a noble man, but then the wounding of Faramir broke him.

I like how Denethor has such a strong force of will that rather than corrupting him as he did Saruman he had to feed him false information.
