Homestuck rant (contains spoilers)

Ugh, Gamzee apologists infuriate me. "Oh poor baby, you can't blame him; he was being controlled by Cal and Aranea, he didn't do anything of his own accord." LIES. Cal doesn't control, it influences. And Aranea might have been controlling him in his relationship with Terezi, but that's just speculation and even if it's true it doesn't excuse the other despicable things he did. It is LITERALLY part of Gamzee's BIOLOGY to be a psychopath. Purple bloods are all mentally unstable; this is a fact. In a timeline when he ran out of sopor early, he STILL killed everybody, and there was no Cal or Aranea there. And what about making out with Tavros' severed head? You think Cal or Aranea made him do that? Nope. That's entirely him.

And while we're on the subject of people misinterpreting characters, let's talk about Eridan. "Oh he's the worst! He killed the girl who rejected him and her boyfriend in a jealous rage!" Really? Because that's not how I remember it. If I recall correctly, he wanted to save Feferi with his insane plan, got attacked by Sollux, knocked him out then when Feferi was about to attack him, he killed her in self-defence. He was despicable and insane but he's more than a jealous ex for Pete's sake.

I could go on forever about character misinterpretations in Homestuck, so I'll stop with those two.
