Was anyone else on the old DAB forum, circa 2009? I was recently reminded of it, lol.

Bitterly jittery, and not very glittery.

why do all of the superhero series have some random ordinary guy being genetically engineered in some hospital type place and then getting superpowers (Or variations thereof)? Surely the writers can come up with something more original.
Three words: "Comic book style."

It sure gets boring after a while. It's one of the reasons why I'm not into superheroes.
The fastest way to a man's heart- Or anyone's, in fact- Is to tear a hole through their chest.

Indeed. You are as ancient as the soot that choked Pompeii into oblivion, though not quite as uncaring. - Rusvul

Just a butterfly struggling through my chrysalis.

Yep.
Superheroes are either products of science or magic, or born with that mutation.

They used to do other things, like have people get bitten by radioactive spiders, but fans started whining.

That's actually due to a lack of science. The standard formula for super-hero origin stories for quite some time was to find something that sounded scientific, but that nobody knew anything about yet, so that they could make it do anything they wanted. Once people knew better, the origin story wore thin.

The thing is, those superheroes are all based of the original comic books. So often now, the movies try to stay close to the original.
Superman, Batman, Green Arrow, Black Panther, Black Widow, Hawkeye, Wonder Woman and Thor are all examples of superheroes without powers or without scientific accidents or such.

Black Widow actually has a derivative of the super soldier serum from her time in the Red Room, so.

Thor kind of does have powers. I guess I should have said "born with" their powers. Thor, Wonder Woman, Superman, and others always had their powers from birth.

@Skarzs Yeah, I mean without scientific accidents giving him powers.

Just did an overhaul of my home screen on my phone. Because I'm a procrastinator.

I lost my house on Minecraft, 'cause I went off to explore and now I can't find it.

I'm doomed.

Søren

That's happened to me too many times for it to be funny anymore.
