All you have to do is either search for the dragon you want and hope the owner wants something you have, or make an offer of your own.

Nope, you can only get views by posting individual dragons.

You can't anymore.  Frilled and Bright Pink dragons are retired breeds (they don't appear in the cave and they'll never breed their own species), both because the artists were tired of people complaining about them being super-common and being the only thing sitting in the cave at all times.  The Bright Pink artist actually had a bit of a fit and wanted all of the dragons she drew taken down from the site (so other people would have to draw new versions, which would have been most of the dragons on the site at the time - even now, three years later, a quarter of the dragons on the site were drawn by her.)  Fortunately the site owner managed to talk her out of it and just retire the Bright Pinks so that they're no longer available.

The only way you could still get a Frilled dragon is to win the Christmas drawing and choose a Frilled as your prize instead of the new prize dragon; the Frilled artist allowed that, but the Bright Pink artist didn't.

I think a Magi should always be one of everyone's first couple dragons since it enables you to trade.
