I'll have a chance to read up on all your good planning at some point today or tomorrow... after I finish judging...

I'll be making the first post as Tim in round 2 taking into account the planning you all have gotten done. I'll post here before the first post goes up to clarify the direction we're taking things.

But this rain, in the RP, was thunder cloud rain. Meaning a cold front moved in. Thunder clouds storms work in "cells" and each cell lasts about 40 minutes. There seemed to be a lot of cells in the storm in the RP. But the cells run out, the rain and storm stops.

I still really like the idea of the vermin getting bombarded with fire in the middle of a thunderstorm before they even know we exist... Besides that, what are we doing 2nd round? We can't fight, and there's no way we could pull off the capture thing until round three... Are we just scouting each other?

If you do send the fire and we don't know it, then the fire will easily be put out with the rain.

that actually would work out since then the pirates would still have a 'base' of operations to launch their attack from - so the ship can be put out of commission so that they have to come ashore, but just not sunk, so that way the swords can try and sneak aboard if they want, etc. etc.

If the fire were put out by the rain, the projectiles would be out by the time they reached you, if you go back and read my post while we are still planning,  you'll see me talking about starting the fire midst a storm, the goal is to keep the fire going... So... What I'm basically saying is that rai has the opposite affect here (for awhile) rain will spread it, until the fire material is spread so thin that it is easily smothered.

We could also use oil.

YES! YES! YES! ;D
Living in peace, aye many a season,
Calm in life and sound in reason,,
'Til evil arrives, a wicked horde,
Driving a warrior to pick up his sword,
The challenger rings then, straight and fair,
Justice is with us, beware. Beware!

Hmm, do the creatures of the Redwall universe know how to make Greek fire?  I have this nagging feeling that they might have mentioned it in one of the books, but I'm not sure...

Good point.....hm.....Maybe they wouldn't have mentioned it since this it is apparently coming from farther north than any of the books were set?

Sorry, but what's Greek Fire?

It's a sticky, jello, fire, lava, stuff...how to make it was lost in time.

Greek fire was first used to stop the Persian's (or some other marauder) from passing through important channels, it could be layed over water.
