Amos slowly woke. He had no idea what happened. All he could remember was, well, nothing really. There were a few other beasts around him, not yet awake. He stood slowly, and staggered a little at first, but he got up. He looked off in every direction. It was a huge desert, expanding nearly infinitely in all directions! But there was one thing, a massive structure, with an extremely tall tower rising from it. The tower even passed the clouds! He decided to check this thing out. I mean, who wouldn't? Well, he will need help in there, hopefully the others will wake soon. Hopefully, he does not wake the Ancient One.
Hey you! What? Expecting a great quote or some heart-warming poem? Too bad, my signature is just boring. Stop reading it. Stop it. Why are you still reading it?

Rusvul

Rusvul opened his eyes, then immediately shut them. "Aaaargh... I do hate sand in my eyes..." He muttered weakly. He then coughed up a large amount of mud. "Where are we.... "  He looked up at the tower and his eyes widened.

Kanin opened his eyes and looked around. He was lying on his back in the sand surrounded by other beasts. He heard a crunching sound and looked up to see a red panda walking away. Kanin drew his dagger "Who you?" he called
"In the meantime, no one should roam the camp alone. Use the buddy system."
"Understood." Will looked at Nico. "Will you be my buddy?"
"You're a dork," Nico announced.

Cable awoke slowly. Ugh, his head really hurt. He sat there still for a few seconds as the pain slowly dulled. He sat up slowly as he opened his eyes to view his surroundings. All he could see for what he guessed was miles was sand. As he looked around him he saw several beasts lying in the sand about him. Some of them were beginning to wake and walk around. There was what appeared to be a bear of some kind, probably a panda; and a rabbit.
"I'd say" he said in response to the rabbit's question. "the question is more: Where are we?"
NARDOLE; You are completely out of your mind!
DOCTOR: How is that news to anyone?

-Sometime later, the second mate was unexpectedly rescued by the subplot, which had been trailing a bit behind the boat (and the plot). The whole story moved along.

Tordek awoke to find several other beasts around him. Then he saw a huge tower, looming up. He might have been carrying 50 pounds of armour and weapons, so when he started to walk to the tower, he staggered. "This sand is no good." He thought.

Rusvul

Rusvul rolled to his feet, and started off  in the direction that Tordek had gone. "Hey, wait for me, matey! I thin- Ow! Since when are cacti that small?" He had stubbed his toe on a small cactus, with, thankfully, not many spikes.
OOC: Do we know each other, or are we strangers?
BIC: Rusvul brushed sand off himself and kept going.

Kanin turned around as Cable spoke. Seeing the Weasel, he leaped upon him screaming Weasels are elil! Must die!" Then he saw Rusvul "Homba!!!" (fox) he yelled and launched himself upon the fox "Embleer elil!!!" (Stinking enemy)

Rusvul

"Oy! What are ye doing that for, mate?" Rusvul somersaulted to avoid the charge, then muttered a spell under his breath " Terra Pura Animus" which translates roughly into "Pure earth soul" or, Rusvul's Blade Manipulation spell.  All three knives flew out of Rusvul's belt, and formed a sort of defensive barrier. The strain of this was evident on Rusvul's face. " I don't wanna 'arm ye, mate! Lay off the attackin'! We're trapped in a desert, our best hope of survival is ta' work together!"

Norham Waterpaw

"He's right." Amos had walked over to step in between the two beasts. "If we want to make it out of this place, we must work together."

Rhys coughed, groaned, and rolled over. Sitting up, she rubbed sand out of her eyes. "Wha? What's going on?" She saw several creatures around her. Rhys stood, dusted off her black fur, and approached a fox. "Excuse me- do you know where I am?"
A day may come when the courage of men fails, when we forsake our friends and break all bonds of fellowship, but it is not this day. An hour of woes and shattered shields, when the age of men comes crashing down! But it is not this day! This day we fight!

Rusvul released the knives, they flew back to their sheathes on his belt. "Thankee, mate. Holdin' those knives up is quite drainin'. Shall we approach the tower? I don't see anythin' else nearby, an' this desert's too vast ta' try ta' survive without grub n' drink."
He turned to regard the other fox.
"Harr, I'm just as lost as ye are, mate. I don't even know which way's west an' which is east! Wait, yes I do... the sun.... east's that way!" Rusvul pointed south-west.

KitrallStreamrippler

OOC: Yes, it was at you, and yes, I play a fox. :)

BIC: Wonderful. Apparently nobeast knew where they were. The fox was right though, the tower semed to be their best bet. "I agree with you. That tower is the only thing for miles, and unless we want to die, that's the sensible place to go. By the way, my name's Rhys." She held out a paw.

Rusvul shook the extended paw, introducing himself. "Ah'm Rusvul, the Blade Dancer." And with that, he strode off towards the tower. An arrow whistled by his left ear, just barely drawing blood. "Whoa, what was that? I've already lost enough o' me left ear, don't need ta' take more o' it! Rusvul flung himself on the ground, and blended in almost completely. Any archer would have a hard time pinpointing him.

Amos turned and started walking at a brisk pace toward the great building. He arrived by nightfall. There were massive iron doors in front of it, no way in.

Rusvul

Rusvul searched his pockets. "Where's me lockpick? Oh drat, I've lost it! I don't suppose anybeast brought a very thin stiletto dagger? Even my thinnest blade is too large."
