It would be a great honor if David or Marc Jacques decided to join the forum. Although, they probably would feel uncomfortable if they received too much attention. So if either of you are reading this, you can keep your identity a secret. :)

Adding on to that, if you're a Jacques and reading this, thanks for being a part of this forum! ;)
"Cowards die a thousand times, a warrior only dies once. The spirits of all you have slain are watching you, Vilu Daskar, and they will rest in peace now that your time has come. You must die as you have lived, a coward to the last!" -Luke the warrior

Maybe one of his grandchildren, Hannah or Anthony, will join, or have joined.

Martin the Warrior is way more epic than Mickey Mouse. Anyone who says otherwise is insane, or just wrong.

Redwall will never die, until every single one of us, and all of our descendents who we share Redwall with, are dead, books live long after their authors. And in a way, the author lives as long as the book they wrote, their name is never forgotten.
We will never forget you, Brian Jaques. Rest In Peace.

I agree with every bit of that. RIP, Mr. Jacques.
A day may come when the courage of men fails, when we forsake our friends and break all bonds of fellowship, but it is not this day. An hour of woes and shattered shields, when the age of men comes crashing down! But it is not this day! This day we fight!

I think BJ would like this forum. I wonder if any of his relatives are on it? ( I know ago lot of people have been wondering that)

MarielGullwhacker

I think he'd be very pleased. A few years ago the Redwall enthusiasts in our area hosted a Redwall Book Club over the summer. It was awesome! At the end of the summer one of the families hosted a Redwall party where all the members of the book club came dressed as their favorite character. I of course, went dressed as Mariel! Each book club member brought a dish from the actual Redwall Recipe book to share. We had such a feast! All we were missing was Brian Jacques himself....

Later, when we heard Brian had passed away, we were all certain we had lost a great friend. We prayed for his family and for Brian.

Then, we decided to have ANOTHER Redwall party, this time in honor of our dear friend, Brian Jacques, may he rest in peace. So yes, I am certain Brian would be thrilled to find he has many, many friends carrying the Redwall sword onto more adventures!

BloodGullet

I agree, cool idea, hope they like it, but I also agree that if they did, just to keep from being bombarded with requests and/or comments, it would be a good idea to not revel who you were.  Besides, hard thing to do - they way the world is most people would be skeptical that you were who you say you were and would have to go to great lengths to prove it, etc., etc., blah blah blah, in short, not worth the hassle.  But, hope they do appreciate the love of the fans for the stories of their famous relation.

I want the world of Tolkien,
The message of Lewis;
The adventure of Jacques,
And the heart of Milne.
But I want the originality of me.

i am that is (Matthias)

I think that BJ would definitely be proud of the community that has built. As people said earlier, 30 years is quite impressive.

I think they would be so happy to see many people from all over the world still love the Redwall books and that the forum is keeping Redwall alive and well.
