Thought of some more!

Sparrows, other song Birds, and Water Fowl
They were only in the first two books and were a big help...and then never again! (not even in the prequels!) 0_o
It amazes me how Jacques just--threw away a steady, solid supply of bird friends (and lesser antagonists) in favor of somehow nigh-randomly bringing in various birds of prey. You think he could've at least said WHY they disappeared.

Likewise, it would've nice to see more Robins, Thrushes, Woodpigeons and similar little birds helping out. Would've been nice if ducks, geese and the like pitched in too. I especially would've liked the hear the Swans' (most bad@$$ Swans ever! :D )  side of the story...

Frogs
There was only one frog, used a simple minded pet in Marlfox --and yet the way characters talk about them makes them sound like they might be sentient...and suburban. Surely I'm not the only one who'd like to meet one of those gossipy, apparently superstitious "frogwives" characters were often bringing up (as well as their husbands).

EVIL Birds of Prey
'Nuff said!  ;)

Maybe if the dibbuns had found a small one they could have turned into rolling stones.  ;D (Have no idea what rolling stones is, just know that it's a thing)

Even better, a turtle or two as an actual character. That could've been interesting. They would've come complete with their own armor!

They'd be pacifists, mostly. Which WOULD be fairly refreshing. The vermin would just wear out trying to hurt them, then the others could finish them off.

Though they'd be good at biting and using sudden head-butts.

But wouldn't all that depend on there size?

That's why I said "actual characters", meaning they'd be standard size. And even then that tends to vary among the individual characters.

And it wouldn't be the first time a species' size yo-yoed in this series!  ;)

Come to think of it, I am rather surprised turtles didn't show up more often when other species are of reptiles and amphibians were quite common. (Or are there just not many turtles in the UK ???)

Nah, I never see any wild turtles here.
They told me I was gullible. I believed them.
