Mycroft nodded. "Good. Thanks for tellin' me, mate." He eyed some of the recently-freed slaves, shook his head, and murmured to himself as the fox went back to the kitchens, "These creatures could use some vittles." Many of the slaves were so thin it seemed a breeze might blow them away. The hare had never seen anything like it. He shook his head again, then turned to face the sea.

He suddenly remembered Cien. Not once had he seen the otter, but he'd been far too preoccupied with other things to try and seek him out. Now he turned to a shrew who was standing near and asked him if he'd seen an otter with a golden headstripe while on the island. The shrew looked down, then replied that he had, but he was dead. Mycroft thanked him and turned away, saddened. Cien had always been friendly to those at Redwall, and the hare knew Fern would be quite upset when she heard the news. Even if lately she hadn't been sure if Cien was good, she had been friends with him for several seasons.

Marshall saluted and dashed back to the kitchens to work on his dish. He was wondering what Bryony was doing with a knife. He went back to the pot and kept stirring, but yelled over to the squirrel,
"Hey squirrel, better put that knife down. Don't wanna scar up your boyfriend!"

Bryony turned at that, and she quickly launched the knife before anyone could stop her. Oh, it wouldn't hurt the fox, not unless he did something stupid, just scare him. After that, she turned and marched after Skipper, slamming the door behind her into the dining room. "Oh, Skipper! Could I talk to you for a moment?" She trilled sweetly. Skipper winced, and gave the pot to one of the few remaining ottercrew.

Monka watched Bryony go, then turned to a shrew cook. "What just happened?"

Fern had found something else to do in the kitchens. She was enjoying herself, and deliberately pushed thoughts of Mycroft, Skipper, Cien, and Bryony out of her mind. For now, she was just going to focus on not worrying. But she did intend to talk with Tripper and Bryant about the plans later, after breakfast.

Glirid had been dreaming about the horrors of being bathed, and when he suddenly woke up, he was flailing around and yelling about the horrible things he'd do to his tormentors. But then he realized he was safe in his little bed in the Dibbuns' dormitory, so he calmed down. Fortunately, none of the other Dibbuns had been woken up by his yelling.

After a moment the little dormouse decided to go downstairs to see what was happening. So he grabbed 'paw' and went.

The shrew cook shrugged. "Maybe the fox said somethin' wrong." He said, although it seemed obvious, since there was a cooking knife sticking in the wall half an inch above Marshall's head.

OOC: Slight PP there, Gonff, but you didn't reply, so. . . . .

BIC: Skipper was regretting his decision to follow Bryony up onto the deck a little too late. Bryony must know that he knew her feelings for Monka, and had more than likely told him. And now the squirrelmaid was turning to him with fury in her eyes. Or murder. He wasn't sure which was worse.

The long-dead spirit of Martin was trying to find the Abbess. No easy task, but he finally found her in the Kitchens. No one would see him except her, she was sure of that.

Fern was calmly stirring a large pot of porridge when she saw something odd out of the corner of her eye. She glanced up and saw Martin. Startled, she leaped back, dropping her spoon and burning her paw slightly on the edge of the hot pot. Rubbing it furiously with her other paw, she glanced up at the apparition, annoyed. "Don't sneak up on me like that. And anyway, what do you want now?" Fern was really put out by the Warrior's behavior the day before, and so she figured he deserved some snark from her. She noticed the odd looks the kitchen assistants cast her way, and let herself grin slightly. Of course, she thought, they can't see him, just like last time.

Glirid wandered downstairs and into Great Hall. Only a few beasts were there, laying the tables. He stood and watched them for a few minutes, but then got bored and decided to go to the kitchens. Maybe he could find some apples in there.

Mirelle had finished her bread a while ago. As they sailed on, she sat in the little niche she'd found, tired, but still hungry. After a while, she realized there was a delicious smell coming from the kitchens. So she got up and headed over there.

Monka made a face which said No ****. Then turned to go after Bryony, but stopped himself just before he went out of the door. "Do you think I should go after her?" He asked the shrew cook again.

Gonff the Mousethief

Marshall did not move once the knife was out of the squirrels hand. He moved to look at it . Pretty good throw. He got the knife out of the wall and set it down. He fixed his hat back and continued on his soup which was almost ready. He would still annoy Bryony. It was just his nature, plus her reactions were quite amusing.
I want the world of Tolkien,
The message of Lewis;
The adventure of Jacques,
And the heart of Milne.
But I want the originality of me.

The shrew cook shrugged helpfully, not really caring.
-------------------------------------------------------
Martin rolled his eyes and turned. "Well, I guess you'll just have to wait. I was going to give you some news about that hare, but maybe you don't want it. . . . " His mistly letters formed as he started slowly floating away. One, two, three. . . He counted. On five, she'd crack and ask. Most did.
----------------------------------------------
Skipper was now getting whisper-screamed at by Bryony, but he was tuning her out, until she slapped him. "Are you listening to me?" She asked. The otter nodded.

Jukka the Sling

OOC: I'm realizing more and more that I played Bryony completely wrong when I had her a couple weeks ago. Especially that romantic part with her and Monka in the rope locker, when she's thinking to herself that he's not her boyfriend, and they're just friends. *Facepalm* *Starts having an OCD attack*
BIC:

"What do you know about Mycroft?" Fern finally asked, unable to stand the suspense any longer. There was a note of worry in her voice. "Has something happened to him?"
----------------------
Glirid had entered the kitchens unnoticed by any of the assistants, and looked around for some apples. But then he noticed something really odd: the Abbess was standing by a pot of porridge, talking to herself. He toddled over, past a few assistants who were also looking at Fern oddly, and asked the hare, "Why are you talkin' to yourself, Muvver H'abbess?"
----------------------
Mirelle paused near the kitchens when she noticed Skipper and Bryony standing there, with the latter looking very ticked off. The ottermaid, her hunger momentarily forgotten, decided to stay and watch the proceedings.

Monka bit his lip, then took a deep breath, and opened the door into where Bryony, and Skipper were. He was met with a strange sight, Bryony whacking Skipper right across the face. "I am I interrupting something?"

Cornflower MM

OOC: Jukka, I actually wasn't going to say anything. *Thinks of something* I wasn't going to say anything about that, either. But, don't have an OCD attack. They can get nasty. *Hugs* It's okay.

BIC: Bryony turned, horrified. "Um." She squeaked. "No?" Behind her, Skipper started laughing, until Bruyony kicked him.
---------------------------------------------
"Come along, and I'll tell you." Martin said, or rather, wrote. She was rigt on the count of five, he noted dryly.

rachel25

Monka wasn't so sure. "What's going on Bryony? Please, for once just speak to me! Less than two hours ago I tried to kill myself, and you saved me! You can say anything you want to me."

Jukka the Sling

OOC: Thanks. :) Anyway, just 'cause I want everything to be right (:P), I went back and removed that part where she's thinking Monka isn't her boyfriend. I think it works better now. :P
BIC:

"Okay," Fern answered, still sounding worried. Just then, Glirid come up to her and asked why she was talking to herself. "I'm not...oh, never mind," she said. "Why don't you run along and play? I don't think you're allowed in here."
----------------
Glirid wandered off again. As he was about to leave the kitchens, he spotted a bowl of apples and managed to pinch one before anybeast noticed. He toddled off happily, taking juicy bites of it.
----------------
Mirelle leaned against the outside kitchen wall, still watching the whole thing in amusement. This was turning out more interesting than she'd expected.
