I like that one!

"IS THIS THE REAL LIFE? IS THIS JUST FANTASY? CAUGHT IN A LANDSLIDE, NO ESCAPE FROM REALITY!!!" -"Bohemian Rhapsody" by Queen.
Received mostly negative reviews.

Nightfire

My favorite song of all time!  ;D

Here's another awesome one:

"Waterfalls rage an' churn an' crush,
While rivers tend to turn an' rush.
Ponds lie still an' quiet an' serene,
While streams tend to meander an' wane.

O rudders go down
An' the floors will quake,
Paws will stamp
As the earth will shake!

Otters around will clap their paws,
Streambattles will swim
As Wavedogs will dance.
An' all the Wildloughs will siiiiing...

O rudders go down
An' the floors will quake,
Paws will stamp
As the earth will shake!"

Epic! Is that from High Rhulain?
And now for one of my favourite Celtic Woman songs:

Take the wave now and know that you're free,
Turn your back on the land face the sea,
Face the wind now so wild and so strong,
When you think of me,
Wave to me and send me a song.

Don't look back when you reach the new shore,
Don't forget what you're leaving me for,
Don't forget when you're missing me so,
Love must never hold,
Never hold tight but let go.

Oh the nights will be long,
When I'm not in your arms,
But I'll be in your song, That you sing to me, across the sea.
Somehow, someday, you will be far away,
So far from me and maybe one day,
I will follow you,
And all you do,
'Til then, send me a song.

When the sun sets the water on fire,
When the wind swells the sails of your hire,
Let the call of the bird on the wind,
Calm your sadness and loneliness,
And then start to sing to me,
I will sing to you,
If you promise to send me a song.

I walk by the shore and I hear,
Hear your song come so faint,
And so clear,
And I catch it, a breath on the wind,
And I smile and I sing you a song,
I will send you a song...
I will sing you a song,
I will sing to you...
If you promise to send me a song.

That makes me think of Rose of Noonvale. :(

SEND ME A SONG!!!!!!!!! That might (MIGHT) be my favorite Lisa Kelly solo!!!

On a completely different note:

I'm having a bad bad day
It's about time things went my way
Steamrollin' whatever I see
Oh, despicable me!
I'm having a bad bad day
If you take it personal well that's ok
Just watch this is so fun to see
Oh, despicable me!

That song cracks me up! ;D
Living in peace, aye many a season,
Calm in life and sound in reason,,
'Til evil arrives, a wicked horde,
Driving a warrior to pick up his sword,
The challenger rings then, straight and fair,
Justice is with us, beware. Beware!

Mad Maudie

this song makes me think of rose

If I die young, bury me in satin
Lay me down on a, bed of roses
Sink me in the river, at dawn
Send me away with the words of a love song
Cause you are the piece of me I wish I didn't need
Chasing relentlessly and I don't know why
If our love's tragedy why are you my remedy?
If our love's insanity why are you my clarity?
Why are you my clarity?

"A penny for my thoughts,
Oh, no, I'll sell 'em for a dollar,
There worth so much more, after I'm a goner,
And maybe then you'll hear
The words I've been singin'
Funny how your dead, people start listenin'"

That a verse of the song "If I Die Young".
..."Where courage hides within the shawdows, patience within the storms, friendship in around every corner, and inspiration just outside your window."

Epic! Is that from High Rhulain?

No, I wrote it myself for the 'Quest for the Sword' RPG. It is entitled "Streamblaze's Otter Dance."
She sings it and all the otters starts dancing in the RP. Check it out, you'll have to scroll back a few pages.

Here is the song "Miserere", by State of Grace. I'm listening to it right now. It's sung in Latin.

Miserere, miserere,
miserere, misero me,
però brindo alla vita!

Ma che mistero, è la mia vita,
che mistero!
Sono un peccatore dell'anno
ottantamila,
un menzognero!
Ma dove sono e cosa faccio,
come vivo?
Vivo nell'anima del mondo
perso nel vivere profondo!

Miserere, misero me,
però brindo alla vita!

Io sono il santo che ti ha tradito
quando eri solo
e vivo altrove e osservo il mondo
dal cielo,
e vedo il mare e le foreste,
vedo me che...
Vivo nell'anima del mondo
perso nel vivere profondo!

Miserere, misero me,
però brindo alla vita!

Se c'è una notte buia abbastanza
da nascondermi, nascondermi,
se c'è una luce, una speranza,
sole magnifico che splendi dentro me
dammi la gioia di vivere
che ancora non c'è!
Miserere, miserere,
quella gioia di vivere
che forse
ancora non c'è.

Oh, so now we're singing song in different languages? I can do that!

A 'níon mhín ó, sin anall na fir shúirí
A mháithairin mhín ó, cuir na roithléan go dtí mé

[Curfá:]
Dúlamán na binne buí, dúlamán Gaelach
Dúlamán na farraige, b'fhearr a bhí in Éirinn

Tá ceann buí óir ar an dúlamán gaelach
Tá dhá chluais mhaol ar an dúlamán maorach

Bróga breaca dubha ar an dúlamán gaelach
Tá bearéad agus triús ar an dúlamán maorach

[Curfá 2x]

Góide a thug na tíre thú? arsa an dúlamán gaelach
Ag súirí le do níon, arsa an dúlamán maorach

Rachaimid chun Niúir leis an dúlamán gaelach
Ceannóimid bróga daora ar an dúlamán maorach

[Curfá]

Ó chuir mé scéala chuici, go gceannóinn cíor dí
'Sé'n scéal a chuir sí chugam, go raibh a ceann cíortha

[Curfá]

Cha bhfaigheann tú mo 'níon, arsa an dúlamán gaelach
Bheul, fuadóidh mé liom í, arsa an dúlamán maorach

Dúlamán na binne buí, dúlamán Gaelach

[Curfá]

Dúlamán na binne buí, dúlamán Gaelach
Dúlamán na farraige, b'fhearr a bhí, b'fhearr a bhí
Dúlamán na binne buí, dúlamán Gaelach
Dúlamán na farraige, b'fhearr a bhí, b'fhearr a bhí
B'fhearr a bhí in Éirinn

Dulaman has a funny translation, too. And I like Latin. A LOT!
Here is the song Veni Redemptor Gentium

"Veni, Redemptor gentium;
Ostende partum virginis;
Miretur omne saeculum.
Talis decet partus Deo.

Non ex virili semine,
Sed mystico spiramine
Verbum Dei tactum est caro,
Fructusque ventris floruit.

Alvus tumescit virginis.
Claustrum pudoris permanet;
Vexilla virtutum micant,
Versatur in templo Deus.

Procedit e thalamo suo,
Pudoris aulo regia,
Geminae gigans substantiae
Alacris ut currat viam.

Egressus eius a Patre,
Regressus eius ad Patrem ;
Excursus usque ad inferos
Recursus ad sedem Dei.

Aequalis aeterno Patri,
Carnis tropaeo accingere,
Infirma nostri corporis
Virtute firmans perpeti.

Praesepe iam fulget tuum,
Lumenque nox spirat novum,
Quad nulla nox interpolet
Fideque iugi luceat.

Gloria tibi, Domine,
Qui natus es de virgine,
Cum Patre et saneto Spiritu,
In sempiterna saecula."

The translation of Dulaman makes me laugh every time! Especially the verse that is in bold:

Oh gentle daughter, here come the wooing men
Oh gentle mother, put the wheels in motion for me

[Chorus:]
Seaweed from the yellow cliff, Irish seaweed
Seaweed from the ocean, the best in all of Ireland

There is a yellow gold head on the Gaelic seaweed
There are two blunt ears on the stately seaweed
The Irish seaweed has beautiful black shoes
The stately seaweed has a beret and trousers

[Chorus 2x]

"What are you doing here?" says the Irish seaweed
"At courting with your daughter," says the stately seaweed

I would go to Niúir with the Irish seaweed
"I would buy expensive shoes," said the Irish seaweed

[Chorus]

I spent time telling her the story that I would buy a comb for her
The story she told back to me, that she is well-groomed

"Oh where are you taking my daughter?" says the Irish seaweed
"Well, I'd take her with me," says the stately seaweed

Seaweed from the yellow cliff, Irish seaweed

[Chorus]

Seaweed from the yellow cliff, Irish seaweed
Seaweed from the ocean, the best, the best
Seaweed from the yellow cliff, Irish seaweed
Seaweed from the ocean, the best, the best
The best in all of Ireland

lol "I'll buy you a comb!" "My hair's already combed!" :D
Living in peace, aye many a season,
Calm in life and sound in reason,,
'Til evil arrives, a wicked horde,
Driving a warrior to pick up his sword,
The challenger rings then, straight and fair,
Justice is with us, beware. Beware!

OH MAN, I LOVE THAT MOVIE!!!

iúil, siúil, siúil a rúin
Siúil go sochair agus siúil go ciúin
Siúil go doras agus éalaigh liom

Siúil, siúil, siúil a rúin
Siúil go sochair agus siúil go ciúin
Siúil go doras agus éalaigh liom
Is go dté tú mo mhúirnín slán

I wish I was on yonder hill
'Tis there I'd sit and cry my fill
Until every tear would turn a mill

I'll sell my rod, I'll sell my reel
I'll sell my only spinning wheel
To buy my love a sword of steel

I'll dye my petticoats, I'll dye them red
And 'round the world I'll beg my bread
Until my parents shall wish me dead

Tiria! You can't go singing one of my favorite songs and stop before it's over!!! My turn! ;)
Chorus:
Siúil, siúil, siúil a rúin
Siúil go sochair agus siúil go ciúin
Siúil go doras agus éalaigh liom
Is go dté tú mo mhúirnín slán

I wish I was on yonder hill
Tis there I'd sit and cry my fill
Till every tear would turn a mill
Is go dté tú mo mhúirnín slán

Chorus

His hair was dark; his eyes were blue
His arm was stout; his word was true
Oh, my love, I wish I was with you
Is go dté tú mo mhúirnín slán

(yeah, I could skip that verse, too)
Chorus

I'll sell my rod, I'll sell my reel
I'll sell my only spinning wheel
To buy my love a sword of steal
Is go dté tú mo mhúirnín slán

Chorus

I'll dye my petticoats, I'll dye them red
And round the world I'll beg my bread
Until my parents shall wish me dead
Is go dté tú mo mhúirnín slán

Chorus

But alas my love has gone to France
And there his fortune to advance
And if I see him again, 'tis but a chance
Is go dté tú mo mhúirnín slán

(not sure that last verse was correct...I can never remember that one :P)
Chorus

I wish I wish I wish in vain
I wish I had my heart again
And vainly think I'd not complain
Is go dté tú mo mhúirnín slán

Siúil, siúil, siúil a rúin
Siúil go sochair agus siúil go ciúin
Siúil go doras agus éalaigh liom
Is go dté tú mo mhúirnín slán

(apparently Anuna sings another verse, but I haven't heard that version so.....)

Icefire

Time to bring back this thread.

Oh, say, can you see, by the dawn's early light,
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars, thru the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watched, were so gallantly streaming?
And the rockets' red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there.
O say, does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave? (NOTE the question mark! This song ain't over yet)

On the shore dimly seen through the mists of the deep,
Where the foe's haughty host in dread silence reposes,
What is that which the breeze, o'er the towering steep,
As it fitfully blows, half conceals, half discloses?
Now it catches the gleam of the morning's first beam,
In full glory reflected, now shines on the stream:
Tis the star-spangled banner: O, long may it wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

And where is that band who so vauntingly swore
That the havoc of war and the battle's confusion
A home and a country should leave us no more?
Their blood has washed out their foul footsteps' pollution.
No refuge could save the hireling and slave
From the terror of flight or the gloom of the grave:
And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave.

O, thus be it ever when freemen shall stand,
Between their loved home and the war's desolation!
Blest with victory and peace, may the heav'n-rescued land
Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation!
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto: "In God is our trust"
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

It's so annoying to me that we never sing our entire national anthem in the USA...apparently it's politically incorrect or something, but it's got such a great last verse and it tells a story!
Living in peace, aye many a season,
Calm in life and sound in reason,,
'Til evil arrives, a wicked horde,
Driving a warrior to pick up his sword,
The challenger rings then, straight and fair,
Justice is with us, beware. Beware!

Pirates: Shiver my timbers, shiver my soul
Yo oh heave ho
There are men whose hearts as as black as coal
Yo oh heave ho
Inkspots: And they sailed their ship cross the ocean blue
A blood-thirsty captain and a cut-throat crew
Alligators: It's as dark a tale as was ever told
Of the lust for treasure and the love of gold
Pirates: Shiver my timbers, shiver my sides
Yo oh heave ho
There are hungers as strong as the wind and tides
Yo oh heave ho
Possums: And those buccaneers drowned their sins in rum
Monkey: The devil himself would have to call them scum
Crabs: Every man aboard would have killed his mate
For a bag of guineas or a piece of eight
Alligators: A piece of eight
Octopus: A piece of eight
Mosquitos: Five, six, seven, eight
Stone Faces: Hulla wacka ulla wacka something not right
Many wicked icky things gonna happen tonight
Hulla wacka ulla wacka sailor man beware
Crabs: When de money in the ground dere's murder in de air
Totems: Murder in de air
Stone Faces: One more time now
Pirates: Shiver my timbers, shiver my bones
Yo oh heave ho
There are secrets that sleep with old Davy Jones
Yo oh heave ho
Snakes: When the mainsail's set and the anchor's weighed
There's no turning back from any course that's laid
Skulls: And when greed and villainy sail the sea
You can bet your boots there'll be treachery
Pirates: Shiver my timbers, shiver my sails
Dead men tell no tales

Icefire

I dreamed a dream in time gone by
When hope was high and life worth living
I dreamed that love would never die
I dreamed that God would be forgiving
Then I was young and unafraid
And dreams were made an used and wasted
There was no ransom to be paid
No song unsung no wine untasted
But the Tigers come at night
With their voices soft as thunder!
As they tear your hopes apart
As they turn your dreams to SHAAAAAAAAME!
He slept a summer by my side
He filled my days with endless wonder
He took my childhood in his stride
But he was gone when autumn came!
And still I dream he'll come to me
That we will live the years together
But there are dreams that cannot be
And there are storms we cannot weather!
I had a dream my life would be
So different from this Hell I'm living
So different now from what it seemed!
Now life has killed the dream
I dreamed
Living in peace, aye many a season,
Calm in life and sound in reason,,
'Til evil arrives, a wicked horde,
Driving a warrior to pick up his sword,
The challenger rings then, straight and fair,
Justice is with us, beware. Beware!
