Should the vermin meet the Redwallers?

Yeah!!
Not yet...When we're further into the roleplay. c:

"Skipper," Duncan said, almost with a mocking tone to his voice, "I hope by that you mean knockin' him unconcious, wot! 'Tis dishonorable to kill a creature who's beggin' for 'is life, even if it's only a vermin. Hmm..." The hare winked at Skipper as he approached the cowering rat and looked him over.
"Think we could use 'im for anything? Like a distraction, maybe?"

--

Rapshade glowered and looked like he was making a big effort not to slay Saltooth himself.
"Next time, be louder, will you?! I bet that woke up everybeast inside, even if they're dead!" The ferret took a deep breath and pushed past Frogeye, walking inside. He scratched feverently at his arm.
"Okay, you lot, come in, the fishbrained Abbeydwellers left that door open."

--

Grant jumped slightly and looked at Ava.
"Did you hear that? It's not raining, is it? That was the loudest thunder I've ever heard."

--

Fang scowled and turned away from Vadoma.
"Just because I...er...can't remember some things...an' can't fight...doesn't mean ya have t' be so mean t' me!"
Vadoma scoffed. "Silly rat, don't make me laugh. You don't know the difference between the blade of a sword and the hilt. Last time you cut your paw--and it bled so bad, I thought you might as well die from blood loss. There is no way you're fighting with us."

Fangfang glared at her for a moment before running off.
"I am, wether ye like it or not!"

Hickory

The badger looked up from her plate. "I don't think so. Somebeast check thes the gates."

OOC: Just checking - the only player characters in Redwall right now are Muddle, Mortembell, Ava and Grant, right?

Grant stood up.
"I don't think that would be neccecary, Ava. The gates are strong and secure. Maybe something fell inside, like a bookshelf?"

--

Rapshade led the vermin through the half-open door, sabre at the ready.
Whereas some of the crew were whispering excitedly amongst themselves, the ferret was silent--almost solemn--as he strode along in the lead.
He felt sicker than he had in a long time, and was hoping this wouldn't be his last battle.
Rapshade noticed the Great Hall and pressed himself up against the wall so whoever was inside couldn't see him, eyes glinting. "Okay, everybeast. There's a mouse and a badger in there. When I give the word, rush 'em."

Hickory

Ava slowly shook her head. "No, couldn't be. We fastened them to the walls so any wayward climbing Dibbuns wouldn't get crushed. Poor things."

"Course I wouldn't kill a wounded, n' helpless creature Duncan. Don' worry." Skipper said his voice rising slightly in mock indignation. "I'll tie him up." Taking his sling Skipper wound it expertly around the rat's paws. He then picked up the fallen dagger testing its weight.

"Lets go down Duncan. Bracklew more'n likely has most O' th slave free by now. One-ear stay up here n' make sure we ain't attacked from behind."

OOC: Remember Groddil won't be active for a while. I don't know about today though.

OOC: I'll be on from now for about 12-14 hours. Then I'm away.

BIC: Mortembell came running to the Great Hall.
"Pirates in the Abbey! They've got through the gates! I sae it from the Infirmary window, come on, we need to get somewhere safe."
The vixen noticed the ajar door that was once the armoury. She ducked inside and retrieved three swords. She tossed one each to Ava and Grant.

One-Ear looked around. He dropped the dead stoat on the deck and pushed past.
"D'you hear that? Arguin'...Redwaaaaaall!"
Katana in hand, he slammed through a door and came face to face with a rat and a fox. He lowered his blade.
"Fangfang?"

Ashleg

OOC-
We won't end this without you, don't worry. :)
IC-
When the fox burst into the room swinging the katana, Vadoma shoved Fangfang aside and fled. Fang yelped and stood frozen for a moment, eyes locked upon the fox he had come to know as One-Ear.
"Aw no, One-Ear! Y-you didn't bring yer mother to beat me up again, did ya?" The rat moved clumsily backwards towards the door that led to the crew's quarters.
"I can't let that happen..."

--

Grant fumbled with the sword.
"Pirates? Ava, get the Dibbuns somewhere safe! What should we do, hide in the cellars? I've never fought before..."

--

Rapshade grinned.
"They sound so...confused. Now's the time t' strike! Saltooth, you an' Frogeye can go in first, take the badger or the fox. That old mouse is mine."

--

Duncan nodded, whispering in reply, "Alright, Skip. Lead the way."

Groddil

One-Ear pointed the blade at Fangfang and cursed as Vadoma rushed away. The younger fox rushed Fangfang and managed to get between him and the door.
"Mother is easily angered, she feels regret for what she did. But if you gave Rapshade any information on how to get into Redwall, I won't feel the same for what I'll do to you. The ferret is marching on the Abbey as we speak, I need to know if you told him anything that could give him an advantage and get him inside!"

*****

Mortembell heard voices outside. She gave Grant a light push away from the doors.
"Then you should be the one getting everyone to safety. Run, Abbot!"
The vixen opened her satchel. When she learned of Muddle's treachery, she had scooped up some of the poisonous mush I'm case an antidote was required. She proceeded to coat her blade with it. Tossing some of the crushed plant to Ava, she twirled the sword.
"Been too long since I took on pirates, let's see if this ole vixen still has it. Coat your blade with this, Ava. If Muddle knew what he was doing, this stuff should make 'em stay down. Mortembell tipped a table to its side and yelled to the door.
"In you come, Rapshade! Come meet death in the body of the wife of Threeclaw!"

OOC: Ashleg can take over my characters in about four hours (probably when you're on next).
Reminder, Threeclaw knew Rapshade long ago, so the name should ring a bell.
See ya later, guys.

Hickory

Ava blinked before wiping the stuff on her blade. "Huh. Well, a beast of my strength should have no problem wielding this."

"Alright mate, stay close." Skipper whispered raising his dagger and descending into the slave quarters. Almost immediately the awful stench hit his nose and the otter gagged.

"Plague n' Fire Duncan this place looks like a horrible place to live. How can somebeast treat another this way?"

~*~*~*~*~

Saltooth looked startled at Rapshade's orders. The steersrat's sword was drawn and he pointed it accusingly at his captain.

"Hoy th' big brave Cap'n sends those under him to go n' fight th' big badger an' th' wild lookin' fox. But he'll take on th' little old mouse all brave like by himself? I don' think so Cap'n I ain't facin' no giant badger!" The pirates around Saltooth muttered in agreement their own weapons drawn and ready, however none of them were ready to be the first to die leaving all the glory and loot to their fellows.

Duncan followed suit after Skipper, covering his nose with his free paw when he too realized how horrid the smell was. "I'm-ugh-not surprised! They're pirates, they do this. Let's keep going..."

Fangfang looked angry for a half second as One-Ear spoke.
"I...I, er, told him some things, I don't remember what. Honest. But I didn't know what 'e was goin' t' do until th' last moment. He never tells me anything...Move, please."

--

Rapshade narrowed his eyes.
"What, yer callin' me a coward? Is that right, Saltooth? No, I'm just not an idiot like you. That's why I don't want t' fight a badger. But seein' as you're the genius that got us here in the first place, I thought you'd like th' honors!" The ferret bared his teeth.
"Out of my way, fools. Oh, look, Saltooth, th' badger's a cripple, too." He halted halfway past the doorframe.
At Mortembell's remark, he grinned and walked up to her, casually swinging the sabre.
"Oh, Threeclaw had a wife? Ha! He must've been really desperate t' take you, I mean really. You make me gag. Anywho, I suggest y'three surrender now unless ya want bloodshed."

LT Sandpaw

"Oh aye," Skipper gaged as the passed rows of chained slaves. Most of the creatures were still in chains, however a few had evidently been freed. But as the big otter passed them they all stood by awkwardly as if not sure what was expected of them. Deciding to be helpfully the otter pointed behind him towards the deck.

"Hoy mates get yerselves above decks sharp like."

"Skipper!" Bracklew shouted noticing the two Redwallers jogged up to them leaving the lockpick with a middle-aged mouse. "I've gotten a few unchained but there are so many, do you have any mo-" He cut off as his eyes locked with Duncan. A look of guilt came over Bracklew's face and his eyes watered slightly.

~*~*~*~*~*~

Spitting curses Saltooth leveled his sword at the fox and badger eyes narrowed maliciously. "Arrrr, fine then, I'll gut yon badger, n' th' fox to. Harr shouldn't be to 'ard if'n Frogeye be helpin' me. Don' hurt ye'self fightin' old mice Cap'n." Pairing up with Frogeye and a few others Saltooth advanced towards the table slowly as Rapshade began his insults of Mortembell's husband. Saltooth hadn't known the fox well, however he too leered at Mortembell snickering evilly.

"Ain't that right, o'l Threeclaws 'ad no guts nor brains, n' no luck either judging by ye."

Duncan quickly nodded at Bracklew, flashing an anxious smile before he walked past the squirrel and Skipper.
The hare proceeded to look the area up and down. "Mixy? Mix? Hm...Uh, y'know, Bracklew, I don't see her. Must be helpin' out with the rescue. Right?"

--

"Stop cursing, fool! I'll help with the fox an' badger. As long as somebeast corners th' mouse..."
Rapshade took a step closer to Mortembell, brandishing his sabre.
"Yikes!" He mock-recoiled and called over to Saltooth, "Hahaharr...She's even uglier up close! Threeclaw must've been a bit loopy if ye know what I mean. Y' sure have t' be special t' take this one... How 'bout we gut 'er right on the spot? She'd sure be prettier like that, mates!"

Groddil

OOC:
@Sandpaw: Husband? Don't you mean wife? XD

BIC:
One-Ear blocked the door with his katana.
"I know that you don't feel like facing my mother again, but I need to ask you to come with me back to the Abbey. We need someone who knows Rapshade and what his plans are."
The young fox moved closer and placed a paw on Fangfang's shoulder.
"I know you aren't an evilbeast, so come with me, and help prove it!"

*****

Mortembell shrieked in rage and stepped back from Rapshade. She thrust the sword forwards, aiming for the ferret's legs to disable him.
"Ava! Kill the rats! This one's mine!"

Ashleg

Fangfang looked like he was thinking it over but then appeared hesitant.
The rat raised an eyebrow. "If I go, would that make me a traitor...? 'T looks like I've got no choice, but..."

--

"Oh, whoops. You missed." Rapshade easily dodged the blow from Mortembell.
He hadn't given himself his title, he'd earned it by being agile with things like this. The ferret took a moment to laugh at her before aiming with his sabre to cut her on the arm.
