It was then revealed that Azura was watching over Sir Frederick, and the islanders worshipped her. They then declared Frederick to be Azura's chosen, and Azura granted him new skin.

Yes; Fredrick was the chosen for the islanders' pagan human sacrifice. With the enemy tribe having already conveniently provided the campfire and the bonds, the chieftain lovingly set fire to the stake that Fredrick was tied to.

But Azura quenched the flames, and gave the offending islanders a swift and painful death.

Then Azura died from a heart attack and fell from where she was hiding up in a tree, crushing Fredrick under her great weight.

Her weight caused a huge wave that removed Fredrick from the blood-soaked island and took him to the next, where there was a British trading colony. Fredrick bartered his skills and the precious shells given to him by the islanders, that he wore as a necklace, for high-quality passage on a ship back to Europe.

James Gryphon

Fredrick decided to use his time in this high-quality berth to practice stealing things from other passengers' cabins.

There was an active thief on board the ship, and Fredrick spent his free time stealing from the thief and returning goods to their rightful owners.  When the first mate saw what Fredrick was up to, he was pleased, and he suggested to the captain letting the thief go when they reached port in Britain.

But Britain was ravaged by war, and Sir Frederick served a mercenary under a Spanish warlord.

This warlord was well-known across the countryside as a mass murderer, drunkard, chauvinist, and all-around deadbeat.

But the warlord's family was wealthy.  Fredrick was rewarded well for his valiant contributions to the war, and when he was rich and secure, he retired from being a mercenary and continued his travels in lands of peace.

Lady Ashenwyte

And so Frederick settled down in a nice mansion, with a wife and daughter.

They were a close, happy family, living in a safe land. Their biggest struggle was, on occasion, boredom.

James Gryphon

Yes; Fredrick was restless, as his new lifestyle didn't give him as many opportunities to murder women and children as his last job for the warlord (a person who he remembered fondly) had.

He made up for this boredom by teaching his daughter archery and training her to be a skilled swordswoman.

One day, Fredrica (for that was the name that Fredrick, in his conceit, had given his daughter) went to the nearby English town, to find a "WANTED" poster of dear old dad for his crimes against humanity in the English-Spanish War.
