Title: Games we play.
Post by: Unimaginative on January 09, 2014, 02:44:44 AM
Hey, they is a place to post what kind of games you play. Post any. Also, if anyone has Steam then I'd love to friend them. Anyways, I spend almost all of my spare time playing Sid Meir's Civilization V. It's a great strategy game.

I'd play some Civ with ya. My steam name is skypiraterusvul. I have all the DLC included in the gold edition- That's everything except BNW... I mean, I do have BNW, but it's... um... a tiny bit cracked. So... no multiplayer with that. But anything else? Great!

List of games I'm semi-currently playing:
Minecraft
Forgequest
Starbound
Civ V
Portal 2
Kerbal Space Program

There's a few more.
In the past I have also played:

Terraria (Waiting for an update. I've played it a lot... as in 170 hours...)
Wizard101 (Will return to)
Pirate101 (Will return to)
Other junk

Is this topic just for video games or is it for any game at all?

Any game, I suppose. I thought video games when I made it, but any would be fine.  ;D Also, for some reason I can't really search people correctly on Steam, so you'll have to send me a friend request, Rusvul. My username is Han Norwood.

I play Civilization 4...it's an awesome game!

I got Civ 4 instead of 5 because I was getting it from the app store, and in the reviews, people were saying that their downloads weren't working.  So I stuck to Civ 4.
I have not been disappointed.

Civ 4 was a great game. I enjoyed it greatly when I played it. It's still got huge number of mechanics that I miss, as they weren't added into Civ 5. Those random events, barbarian cities, vassal states, and colonies especially.

I've been watching a video series... Towards the end of it, they said that they felt that BNW sort of completed the game... That Civ 5 wasn't quite up to par with the earlier games without it...

I also play Minecraft sometimes. I'm not a hardcore gamer but I think it's fun and cool.

My main focus is the Elder Scrolls series.  I moderate one of the biggest fan-forums for it, and I've got a bit of merchandise for the series, too.  I also spent most of the weekend beta testing Elder Scrolls Online (yes, it's actually okay to say if you're in the beta, nothing else though, can't say if you liked it or anything).

Gaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh!!!! Another Wizard! Finally! Pvp? Sometime? Once my computer dries off? I have a level 82 Life Wizard and a level 35 Necromancr Pvp Warlord... Honestly, in any Pvp fight, I've got a better chance with my Death. I can and have beat level nineties... Well, okay, just once, and he was playing pretty badly. But still.
Oh and rug glitches are cool. Never been much good at them... A friend of mine used to have an elig glitch house. Balance house, had a staircase that went higher than the cliffs on the side of the house. So cool.

So what hav you been doing in game? I don't play much anymore... Aztecs is too difficult, so otherwise it gets a bit grindy.

LEVEL 82?!?!?! Wow! I can't get past 60!!!! I have a level 60 fire, a level 30-something life, a level 9 balance, and a level 2 of something else..... I don't participate in PvP's a lot, but it'd be fun to do one with a friend! Lately I haven't been playing much either, except with my level 2, because I'm not a member at the moment. The internet at our house is suuupeer bad, so I can only play Wizard while visiting somewhere. Whenever I do get on, I like taking my level 60 into Triton Avenue and pwning all the bosses there in one hit. It's really kinda fun.... I also get a kick out of decorating my houses... I recently bought my level 60 her third house, and then made it into a 'summer vacation home' kind of thing. Oh, and the new feature where you can visit and rate stranger's houses? That's fun! That's how I discovered the rug glitch. There's this one person who took a Sunken Palace and then used the rug glitch to extend the house. Her house was twice the size it would have been normally. I tried to do it with my Imperial Palace, but I haven't figured it out to that extent yet.

Level 60... That'd be Celestia or early Zafaria, right? Zafaria is pretty easy, but horrendously boring. As a Fire, you're probably better at soloing than I am. Not to say that you'd have any kind of chance solo in Azteca, but then, I don't either. Oh, and a tip if you're having difficulty problems- If you haven't already done the entire Grizzleheim/Wintertusk storyline, do that. It's a neat story, and to unlock some of your best spells you need to have done it. Plus, the best farming spot in the entire game is in Wintertusk.
At the moment, I don't have a membership either. I haven't been a serious player in a while, I've mostly been playing Minecraft/Starbound/Hearthstone/About fifteen other things. It's a shame your internet doesn't work very well...  Still, once my computer dries out (That means in 2-4 days), and once you have internet access, would you like mess around? I think your Fire could probably beat my Life wizard... But I'd definitely have a chance with my Death. Ah, good old Necromancy.
Oh, and have you tried out Pirate101? I actually prefer it, I really like the battleboard-y strategy-y combat. The story, theme, graphics, and music I find more compelling, as well.

Here's one for the board: I don't play video games.  I believe the whole "gamer" thing is a generational thing and I grew up in a generation that relied on books and playing outdoors for fun.  We didn't have video games to the extent that kids have access to them today.  Nintendo and Sega were out there but they were pretty primitive and not very interesting to me anyway.  I know my parents had an old Atari system somewhere that I know we disposed of long ago. :P  Does that count?

Yeah, I'm stuck in Celestia. I don't solo, though. My mom and I play together, and that makes everything sooo much easier. I have finished Wintertusk, actually... I really liked it. :)

Next week I'll be at my sister's house for the whole week, and she has awesome internet, so maybe we can play then. I really would love to play with people other than just family.

I have tried Pirate, but I'm not a big fan. It's fun, but I prefer the story in Wizard. I could pull off being a pirate, but I make a better wizard. :P

It counts. I love the outdoors, and I love books. (Maybe not as much as you, but still)
I like certain video games, because instead of playing outside with the friends in your neighborhood (which I have none, because everyone there is older) you could connect with your friends across town.

That's just one thing I like.  ;D

The problem I have with my outdoors is that I really don't have anything to do in them, and for three quarters of the year it's 80-95 degrees (Fahrenheit, that is) outside. I don't really play any sports, either, I haven't found one that I enjoy, certainly not enough to brave the searingness of the almost-equatorial days. I live between two houses- At one of them, our yard is very small. At the other, it's quite large, but full of briars... Idk. I also don't have any friends who live anywhere nearby- I interact with them mostly through Skype.
Not exactly an outdoorsy person :P

Problem with where I live is it is always 40 degrees F and raining. It's not so much a 'not want to' as much as it is a can't.

95 degrees is pretty horrid as well... Can't exactly do much in that heat unless you're used to it, or you don't like it... Which I certainly don't. Born in california  :D

How'd you know? :D  I'd never heard of it before, and I was like, what kind of game is it?  I found out it was a 3rd person shooter, and I fell in love with it the first time I played it.  The first one I ever played was Star Fox 64.

Call me weird but I never really liked video games. I prefer to read. use my imagination. who needs a computer to tell me what adventures I can and cant have when I can do them perfectly fine in my back yard or in the closet.

Of the game that I do play they are all the really really old ones.  Rollercoster  tycoon (the first one), and one of the first few computer games ever. It was just words Zork. My dad played it when he was young. I also was into pack man for a bit. the good thing about the last two games is that you can find them free on the internet they are so old.

You're weird. (XD, JK)

I've not really enjoyed imagination-based totally-free form IRL games in a while- I prefer to be creative within limits- what sort of mini games can I make in Minecraft, or coming up with ways to strategize and win stuff in D&D (Or loads of other games, really)
Idk. Perhaps I've lost something- but I think, just maybe, I've gained as much or more than I've lost.

BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! YES! YESSS!
*Ahem.*
All the elements of the game that people critique sound exactly like Terraria- But the actual feel of the game is one hundred percent different and completely unique. Really great game.

Also, I can set up a multiplayer server for us to use... Although I've got a few mods... You'd have to get those if I was to use my main character (Or any Glitch or Avian character, for that matter- I've modded them to have bigger ships.)

Something else I'm super excited about is that I can actually make mods for Starbound. I'm working on one called Holographic Extensions- Lots of hologrammy things. Going to be awesome.

Cool. I'll try to figure out how to use mods ( I'm not good with computer-y stuff)
But yeah, that would be awesome. My main guy's a Floran, named Graene. I look like a bandit, and I like that look. So yeah, the game's awesome.

I have a Flitch now too. I took one look at a Glitch Village, and I loved it. Anyways, my Floran is tier 2, and my Glitch just beat Dreadwing, the penguin.

I just today figured out how to place "wall blocks". All you have to do is right click while holding the block, to make it your "wall".

I... Am... An idiot...

I play games because it's like alternate reality. Tell me, when, if ever, wil you get to fight a troll? And many games are make ur own adventure, like minecraft or terraria. Sometimes I even re-make the story. However, I do use imagination when I think of my own games ideas.

Almost all vid games have that now, so it's now too far fetched.
Title: Re: Games we play.
Post by: Rusvul on February 17, 2014, 03:38:40 AM
I disagree... There's plenty of games without brutal violence. To quote some people I once heard on a radio show somewhere, "Not every video game that doesn't star Elmo is Grand Theft Auto"
Very true.

But I want to kill Elmo O_o

You guys: "Skarzs! Why would you want to harm an innocent, cute, (ugly) nice (annoying and obnoxious), friendly (freakish) child's character like Elmo?"
Me: "He scarred my mind as a child; he must pay with blood."
O_o
o_O
:o
:o
No. Seriously, I hate Elmo.

Barney is worse.
Title: Re: Games we play.
Post by: Faiyloe on February 17, 2014, 01:00:08 PM
So true but I can beat both of those with Dora. I even hated her when I was little.
Title: Re: Games we play.
Post by: Rusvul on February 17, 2014, 03:33:06 PM
Barney is, was, and always will be absolutely horrendous. I watched it a lot because my parents hated it- Seriously, I didn't much like it either, but I would put it on just for the sake of annoying them. Eh, heh, I totally don't do anything at all like that anymore.... Yeeaaahhh...
Dora was alright- I used to watch some of that. I found it to be a bit silly, though.
Elmo. Elmo, in sharp contrast to Barney, is, was, and always will be awesome. I used to watch through entire episodes of Sesame Street (Which I thought was just mediocre) to get to the Elmo bit at the end.
You will not harm a stitch on Elmo's head.
I will protect him with my life.
You must pay with blood for trying to make Elmo pay with blood.

Post by: The Skarzs on February 17, 2014, 10:08:02 PM
Try and make me. I'll kill Dora by crushing her to death with Barney's cold dead body then take both of their carcasses and make Elmo eat them, then force a grenade down his throat and run as he says "ELMO'S HURL!" And explodes in a glorious squishy pile of macabre death. :o :o :o :o

I don't know that I could be called a fan, exactly, but it's a cool series of games- Not played any of them, but I might get Link to the Past (Isn't that what it's called? Uh, the new one.) for that system. Stabbing things and being walls? That sounds like fun. I think the problem with me playing Wind Waker or Ocarina of Time is that I would forget all the songs. Not that that's a reason not to play, but... yeaahhh...

I like Pokemon.  My first game was Silver, and since then I've played Yellow, Ruby, Emerald, LeafGreen, my sister's FireRed, Diamond, SoulSilver, Black, and X.

My Gameboy Advance was stolen with Emerald in it, and I thought I wasn't going to buy a DS, so I ended up selling all my games.  And then I did later get one, and regretted selling them.  I've bought Emerald again since then and have been re-playing it.   Black I never got to finish, because I happened to have it in my pocket one morning, went to school, and ended up losing it somewhere on campus.

I'm liking X quite a bit, even if my progress is slow.

I play Age of Empires ALL THE TIME. I own basically all the games (well, not all of them. I still want Asian Dynasties and The Forgotten). Anyhow, I usually stay up until midnight (or after) playing The Conquerors on my outdated laptop.

I also play this first-person shooter game called Red Eclipse. It's a free game you can download, but it only works an computers with good graphics.
