The poem's details define a lot of the plot of the story, so I think it's important to go over them and make sure we're clear on the outline -- especially since my character is the one they're trying to chase down.

QuoteAcross the plains, far to the cold lands
A warrior queen waits with book in her hands
She lusts for a blade, with longing to see
But that blade belongs to me
This part is pretty obvious; it refers to the pine marten and the events that've already happened.

QuoteFollow the creature cross arid land
To homes buried deep in the sand.
"Arid land" strikes me as referring to Terrus' home in the Western Plains, in the previously-abandoned mole tunnels.

This means that I need to come up with an excuse or a reason for Terrus to go there. If it's on the way back to the pine marten place, then he can stop by without any problems; if not, I need a reason because he legitimately intends to get the sword back to the marten, and besides his psychological issues would prevent him from keeping the sword (which he'll grow to dislike) in the long run anyway.

QuoteThe sea in the woods to find
The engulfing earth to mind.
This part is cryptic to me. What're you thinking to do?

QuoteBeware the chanting foe,
This implies there will be an enemy that chants at some point.
QuoteThe castle to bring you woe.
Presumably something tragic will happen at the marten's fortress?
QuoteFight for freedom, "Redwall!" cry,
"Fight for freedom" implies that slaves will be freed, or that the group that's going to the castle will be temporarily imprisoned.
QuoteBefore the foe with sword does fly.
Presumably they need to fight before the marten is able to effect an escape.

QuoteThe engulfing earth to mind.

Maybe this could be quicksand?

QuoteThe sea in the woods to find

I should ahve come on here and explained the poem earlier. Here goes:

Across the plains, far to the cold lands
A warrior queen waits with book in her hands
She lusts for a blade, with longing to see
But that blade belongs to me

Follow the creature cross arid land
To homes buried deep in the sand.
Yes, this refers to the Western Plains

The sea in the woods to find
It's an a huge, salt water lake(I know that's a bit odd, but it fit.)

The engulfing earth to mind.
Yes, this is either quicksand or a swamp.

Beware the chanting foe,
You know the little rat-things that appear in the Legend of Luke? I was thinking this could be something like that.

The castle to bring you woe.
We can have somebeast die if you want, but it was more of a filler verse, to keep the rhyme scheme

Fight for freedom, "Redwall!" cry,
I was thinking they could be imprisoned, and free slaves. Makes it interesting. And you'd expect the evil queen to keep slaves.

Before the foe with sword does fly.
Yes, this does refer to her fleeing with the sword.

High or the hills, far or the seas,
Fly with the small birds and follow the breeze,
Go with your heart, where would you roam?
Back to the rose colored stones you call home.

Would it help if I made an update for Terrus?

Also: Trigoma hasn't been too active lately; would it be all right if I assumed control of his character if he doesn't show up? He already posted what he'd like to be done with his character earlier, so all I have to do is let him chase me for a bit, then kill him -- either in a duel or by something sneakier.

Lady_Gwalia

Why don't you do an update on Terrus. You can do a bit with Trigoma if he said you could, but don't kill him off yet.

So is this still going? I haven't been on here for a while, but this was a good plot and it would be cool if it could start up again.

We'll wait for you. (At least I will.) It will be good to get it started up again.
