I know a couple of people who work for a publisher / distributor. That's also how I sometimes get copies of books pre-release, draft / unedited format, and promotional items. For example, I've got copies of draft book covers that were used by the salespeople when visiting book stores, but they are different ot the final published version. I've also got an unedited proof copy of Triss. I also used to get quite a few free books and can still get some books at staff discount prices from various publishers / distributors. :)

Sailears

Pearls of Lutra, easy.

It's got some amazing characters, a proper treasure hunt so the Abbey "side story" is a pleasure to read - probably the best treasure hunt in all the books. Some nice songs too...

That's not to say RT is bad  - on the contrary, I love it too - I love the hares in there.
My ears, how are you, wot!

Alright! I know I have left this topic die for awhile but I'm gonna bring it back and see how it does. I am starting the whole thing over so All the books will be up against each other like we started out with so...

                           NEW ROUND!

First books up against eachother:

The Sable Quean vs. Mattimeo

Begin!

I am going with The Sable Quean on this one. In my opinion, it has more description and better characters.

If you wanna chat, PM me :) I'd love to talk with any of you!

Gonff the Mousethief

I want the world of Tolkien,
The message of Lewis;
The adventure of Jacques,
And the heart of Milne.
But I want the originality of me.

I'm going with Mattimeo simply because I downright hated the Sable Queen. The shrew drove me up the wall, the main characters didn't do much, and they killed Flandor! Mattimeo I found more intriguing anyway. (Also, I hated the Sable Queen in a way that I'd still read it, I just hated it in relation to the other books)

Mattimeo defiantly. Sable Quean didn't interest me as much.

Wylder Treejumper

Mattimeo! far better characters and a very menacing villain, even if Slagar's demise was a bit weak.

Courage: Not only the willingness to die manfully, but also the determination to live decently.

Shadowed One

Martin the Warrior is way more epic than Mickey Mouse. Anyone who says otherwise is insane, or just wrong.

I enjoyed the Sable Quean very much, but I like both of them.

The Mask

Sable Quean. I really liked Buckler an' whatshisface. To be honest I didn't really enjoy Redwall and Mattimeo.
I am a squirrel, an otter, a mouse, a fox, a stoat, a ferret, a weasel, a wildcat, a hare, a hedgehog, a badger; I am the master of disguises, The Mask.

" I will burn the heart out of you." Moriarty, Sherlock

Russa Nodrey

Hmm, I'd say I liked The Sable Quean better than Mattimeo, although both were cool.
Freddy

Russano the Wise

Although I really enjoyed both books, I think my favorite was probably Mattimeo.
