Tranquility didn't stop. Instead, she went over to John, and used her front teeth to pick him up by the coat, swinging him onto her back and continuing to walk at her normal pace on all fours. "Problem solved."

Rainshadow

John let out a yelp of surprise as he was flung ungracefully onto the cat's back.  He then proceeded to fold his arms and glare as Holm started laughing.
"Thank you," Holm said, grinning at John.

Tranquility nodded, coming up to a pile of rocks. Two of them formed a large-ish triangle. "Here's one of, if not the, best shelter on the moor."

Rainshadow

Holm nodded his thanks, walking over to the rocks and sitting down.  His paws needed rest!
John cleared his throat, still sitting on Tranquility's back.  "Do you think you could set me down, please?"  He hated heights, so naturally, he wasn't going to just slide down.

Tranquility sat down, so John pretty much slid off her backwards like a slide. She then stood back up once John was off, and sat down. "I must warn you, do look out for Coyotes. They're quite sneaky, and while they won't attack me, and probably not you, Holm, John is at pretty high risk.

Rainshadow

John dusted himself off, walking over to Holm.  "I'm highly capable of taking care of myself, but thank you for your concern."
Holm reached into his deep pockets, pulling out a pipe.  Setting it in his mouth, he then stuck his paws back into his pockets, searching for a match.  "John," he said, talking around the pipe, "what did you do with my matches?"
"What?" John asked.  "I didn't do anything with them."
Holm glanced at John in annoyance.  "John, I can tell what you've been eating for the past week.  I think I can tell when you've stuck your paw in my pocket."
John sighed, glaring at Holm.  "You're annoying, you know that?"
Holm nodded, "Yes, I've been told that before.  Now, where are the matches?"
John shook his head.  "No, you're not smoking.  Remember what we agreed on?  No more smoking."
"But it helps me think!" Holm replied.
John shook his head again.  "Nope, you're not getting your matches back."
Holm glared at John, standing up and unsheathing his rapier.  "You tell me where my matches are or I shall run you through, John!"
  John smirked, saying, "Nope!"
Holm stood there for a moment, then sheathed his blade and kicked John.  "Fine, but I'm not going to be happy about it."

Tranquility looked at Holm. "If you want to burn down the moorland, go ahead and smoke. If you want to live, don't. Because if you try to smoke in my moorland, I will personally make sure you never smoke again," she said calmly, but she was bristling under her cloak.

Rainshadow

Holm sighed and put his pipe away.  Sitting back down, he mumbled to John, "As soon as we get out of the moorlands, you are going to give me my matches back."
John shook his head, then looked up at Tranquility.  "You said these were your moorlands?  You're the ruler?"

"As I said before, these lands have no ruler, but seeing as most creatures here are at least civil towards me, and the fact I've asserted myself onto those who attempt to attack me, I do consider these lands 'mine' in a way, though I have no control over those who enter and leave," she answered, licking one of her paws and washing her face.

Rainshadow

Holm stood up again and started pacing.  This was a very relaxing thing for him to do, as well as helping him think when he couldn't find his matches.  He put his paws together and placed them under his chin, completing his usual thinking pose.
"Are there many beasts living in the moorlands currently, Tranquility, marm?"

"... a few mice.... coyotes... some rabbits.... other than that, I'm not sure. I don't keep track... but there's few enough so this place looks more barren than it is," replied the black cat, lying down on her side.

"Understood." Will looked at Nico. "Will you be my buddy?"
"You're a dork," Nico announced.

Dari was tossed like a rag through the air currents. He was a slave to the wind. He knew that there was ground below him, not water or trees. Water was always changing, churning, and in winds like this, large waves would rock any body of water. And trees, they were much more bumpy then any ground, and in swift winds, they would be waving back and forth, maybe with branches falling. There was sturdy ground beneath him, and rather flat. He dove, still being tossed about, until he was flying about three feet above the ground. Flying this low was dangerous, but the winds weren't so strong lower.  Echolocation is a wonderful thing for a bat, even though Dari was technically half blind due to his one ear, and he 'saw' the three figures, one lying, one standing, the third pacing. He flew faster towards them, if possible, and ended up crashing into the pacing figure.

Sasam and Asol Helmos wandered through the moors
"My God it's freezing here" said Asol the Lynx
"Oh stop complaining" replied Sasam "You inherited mum's side of the family, your a lynx for Pete's sake, you were built for the cold! Look at me, I'm a Caracal, I was built for the warm jungle climates where we grew up and you don't see me complaining"
Asol had no reply, he simply pulled his hood up and trudged on through the moors

"Oof!"  Holm was knocked down by a blur of motion.  It came too fast to move out of the way, so there he was, on the ground with another creature on top of him.
John got up, running over to him.  "You alright, Holm?"  He glanced at the beast lying on top of Holm.  "A... bat?"
John looked at Tranquility.  "Are there usually bats in the moorlands, Tranquility?"
