While the coral snake was preoccupied with Alenra it didn't notice Aldar sneak up until it was too late. A knife flew into its left eye, followed closely by a second which went into the right eye. The snake thrashed about madly in a rage of pain, the two knives jutting out from its now blinded eyes.

Aldar had known that Alenra had been following them, so when he heard hissing it was obvious who was in trouble. He'd told Breeze and Tylmela to take a small break and had darted off. In its blind rage it didn't see him step up by its head, short sword raised.

Aldar pulled his two knives out of the dead snake's eyes. He looked at Alenra for a few seconds, and then silently walked back to the other two.

As he got back he cleaned his short sword and two knives on the grass, said "Snake." and then sheathed them back into his belt.

Alenra followed them, and she came up to Aldar. "Thanks. Histah was a troublemaker that had been roaming these woods for too long." Suddenly she was flattened by a pale furry object!
"Alenra! What're you doing here! I haven't seen you in sooo long!" The rat gasped, staggering upright, still with the squirrel clinging to her.
"Get offa me!" she panted.
"Oops!" She let go of the rat, stepping back sheepishly. "What are you doing here? I though you went back to the northlands."
"I came because I had heard that Redwall had been taken over by snakes. I was concerned about you."
"You were worried about me? Really?" the honey-coloured squirrel grinned in obvious pleasure, her russet-furred paws still refusing to let go of Alenra.
The rat turned towards the trio, gesturing with her head at the squirrel. "This is Araiah. She's a friend o' mine. She's also a Redwaller, so mind your manners with 'er. Kid, you better let go of me, otherwise I won't be able to walk."
"Sorry," Araiah said. "Are you going to help us?"
"Yes, of course I am. Why else would I travel all the way here?" Alenra turned towards the trio. "May we travel with you? I'm a good fighter, as is Araiah."

Breeze looked the two up and down, "I still don't think I thrust any of you. But seeing as I have no choice, I don't mind another two. But it's not up to me. Aldar thinks he is in charge."

"That's only because Aldar knows where to go." Aldar replied, standing back up. He turned towards Alenra and Araiah. "Certainly. We're heading towards a clan of beasts that may be able to help us." He briefly looked up at the sun before continuing. "I'd say we'll reach them in about an hour."

Alenra casually put her paw on her sword hilt. "Do yah mind tellin' me who these creatures are?"
Araiah just made an odd chittering sound, looking at the two knowingly. She had seen her friend acting like this before. If that pine martin didn't give her an answer, bad things would happen. Araiah hoped he would tell her. She still vividly remembered what had happened the last time.

"Just a few rats, Weasels, stoats, ferrets, the lot. about a hundred of them, give or take a few." Aldar replied. "Why, is there something that you find wrong about that?"

"As long as they're not thieves. If any try stealin' from me, they'll get a paw or two chopped off." She took a few paces over until she and Araiah were walking next to Tymela. "I don't trust that pine martin much," She said in a low voice. "how'd ye end up traveling with 'im?"
Araiah was just content to trail slightly behind Alenra. She was a pretty
laid-back squirrel. She checked her arrow supply just in case they ran into trouble though.

"Unless you were a snake, and they knew where your home was, when you wouldn't be there and for how long, I doubt that they will try any thievery." Aldar replied evenly.

"Then let's git goin'" she grated out harshly at him. Alenra was liking this pine martin less and less by the second.

Aldar ignored her comment and continued on. He had heard her comment to Tylmela, stored it in the folder marked Important, Needs to be Remembered in his brain, and then continued on.

Some time later, they had reached the edge of the camp. "Here we are," said Aldar. "The clan's leader is named Norean Injulk. He's not much of a leader, but he's good enough to keep the clan together." he continued, stopping the group and pointing to one beast in particular, an average sized rat wearing a navy-blue cloak that was sitting up against a tree with his eyes closed. "Hold on. I'll go let him know we're here. Trust me, you don't want to surprise these beasts. They often shoot first, and then check to see if it's an adder or not later." And with that he disappeared up a nearby tree and traveled along the branches from tree to tree, until he was right above the rat.

"Winter is freezing!" he whispered down, saying his part of the secret password that the two had used numerous times in the past. Suddenly the rat opened his eyes and started looking about as he replied, "An' summer is warm! Aldar, where are ye, ye olde pine shadow?" "Up here, ye daft bilge rat!" Aldar replied.

Norean looked up and saw the pine marten. "Well, well, what are ye doin' up there, ye crazed marten? Come down an shake paws with yer olde pal Norean!"

Aldar jumped down and shook paws with the rat. Before he let go he whispered something to Norean, who's expression suddenly turned serious, as well as a wee bit worried. "Are ye sure about this, Aldar?" He asked. "We undoubtfully have enough for it but...are ye sure about it?"

"Absolutely." Aldar replied. "Ye can have the entire adder's to yourselves." he looked directly into the rat's eyes. "You have my word." and then with that he darted up the tree and back to his companions. not bothering to climb down he simply dropped down beside them.

Foremole Dirtclaw, as normal, was wandering around Mossflower, however this time he was looking for food. So far he had got quite a bit, some roots, some fruits and quite a few edible flowers. Now all he needed was a place to eat them. His wandering took him to a large tree, perfect for some shade and maybe some sleep. As he approached it, he felt something strange in his digging paws. This was no ordinary tree. He could feel things like rooms underground! Searching the tree, he found a door cleverly carved in to the wood! "Burr, well, ain't that burr a plursent surproise," he muttered.
He opened the door and entered.

OOC~ Alrighties then, I'm at brockhall, I'll wait for you guys! Foremole will fall asleep now. Wake him up when you arrive!

BIC~ Foremole was immediately amazed at just how dark it was. Well, it was underground! But, as he was a mole, he was able to see pretty well. As he kept walking deeper and deeper, he begain to get tired. All food forgotten, he found a nice spot and lay down for some sleep.

OOC: My character will probably bring most of the otter clan to Brockhall if that's OK.

Trinn emerged from the water and went on shore. Going over to the campfire she helped herself to some shrimp and hotroot soup. "How are we to live with all these adders about?, she thought as she ate, We must get rid of them, but they are to many for our clan." Just then the warning sounded. It was used when someone saw an adder to warn everybody she dived into the water with everyone else to wait for the danger to pass.

OOC~ Just letting you know Foremole is waiting at Brockhall for you all! He's just asleep...

OOC: @HIAG: Nice turn of phrase!  ;D
BIC: Tylmela was feeling uneasy. Like Alenra, she did not trust the pine marten. However, Tylmela Mask considered herself fully able to take care of herself, and kept going.

Breeze was a little startled when Aldar landed next to them. Quickly she asked, "Well, what did they have to say?"
