Reina was pulled along by the excited ottermaid. She ran along with her, staring at the immense sandstone structure as it loomed large ahead of her. She'd never seen such a huge building before!

As she was running, Anpan extolled the virtues of Abbey food in a breathless voice. "I can't wait to get to the kitchens! They have candied chestnuts, deeper-n-ever turnip and beetroot pie, pasties, turnovers, and all sorts of good things! The drinks are good too! Dandelion cordial, strawberry fizz, mulled wines, and the best October ale this side of the great ocean!"

Is it possible that they really have all that food? she wondered. Most of the dishes she hadn't even heard of, but they sounded delicious.

She and Anpan arrived in front of the Abbey gates. Reina stood there hesitantly, waiting for her companion to make the first move. The ferretmaid could hardly believe the difference in her circumstances. Just a bit earlier she'd been wandering alone, and now here she was in front of the biggest building she'd ever seen, with a woodlander companion and a ray of hope shining for the first time in seasons. Surely somebeast in Redwall would know of Creulon, and she could finally catch up to him.

Russina ssaw the ferretmaid and ottermaid (?) in front of the gate, and called down, "Hello! Friend or foe?"

Jukka the Sling

OOC: Yep, an ottermaid.

BIC: Although rather nervous, Reina decided to reply. She called haltingly, "F-f-friend!"

"Alright, be right down!" Russina called, quite friendly. She ran down the steps and opened the door. "Welcome to Redwall, friends! I'm a newcomer myself, but since they asked me that, I figure it must be the standard question."

Anpan stood stock still throughout the whole exchange, staring breathlessly up at the massive building. "So big!"

Slowly, Reina stepped into the huge gateway, the arch overhead more than three times as high as she was tall. She felt completely dwarfed in its shadow. Beyond her, on the sunlit lawns, the ferretmaid could see Redwallers talking. She crossed her fingers, hoping everyone would accept her, just like Anpan had and this squirrelmaid seemed to.

Suddenly, Anpan noticed that Reina was going into the Abbey. Sheepishly, hoping that no one noticed her gawking, she followed her new friend into the great redstone building.

Russina grinned, "Yes, it is rather big, isn't it? Let's go find the person in charge and announce ourselves, shall we?" She set off over the grounds walking toward the Abbey, every once in a while checking to make sure they were following her. "Oh, silly me! I forgot to tell you my name! Russina, intuitive squirrel at your service!"

BlueRose

Anpan held her paw out to the squirrel. "Nice to meet you! I'm Anpan." The young otter was very happy to have made two new friends in one day.

"Well it's nice to meet you too! Oi, Sister! Where's the beast in charge?" Russina grinned, and took the ottermaid's paw and giving it a hearty shake. She was quite fond of grinning.

For a moment, Reina was pretty much occupied just looking around her. Then she realized the polite thing to do would be to introduce herself. "I'm Reina," she said quickly. Then, "This is a weird question, I know, but have you ever heard of a fox named Creulon?" She had to know right away.

"Good to meet you, Reina! Hold on just a sec, what did you say Sister?" The Sister in question huffed, then repeated, "Inside."
Russina smiled at her, then called, "Thanks much! Oh, if I were you I'd go to the Orchard tonight."  The Sister looked complexed, but decided that she'd go to the Orchard. Russina turned back to Reina. "Creulon? Huh..Wait, what does he look like? I did see a male fox coming here, but didn't think anything of it."

Jukka the Sling

OOC: Wait, is the fox Russina saw actually Creulon? 'Cause Creulon (the name's Welsh, btw) is some horde leader guy. So he probably wasn't around the Abbey. Maybe somebody can help Reina look at books in the gatehouse or something to find a lead...

BIC: Hesitantly, Reina replied, "From what I can remember, he's a gray fox with dark eyes. He has a band of vermin with him."
