Just a day from here? Really? She was surprised and relieved at the same time. But could she conscientiously allow Russina to come along and endanger her life on a quest that wasn't her own? "I-I don't know. It's my quest. I wouldn't want anybeast getting hurt because of me. But thank you anyway."

Reina sighed. "Alright." As she was still a bit unused to being around other beasts, she wasn't sure how she'd like it, having a constant companion for the first time in seasons, but she was going after that fox Russina or no Russina.

Anpan remained quiet throughout the whole conversation. "Can I come too?" She hadn't ever dealt with large amounts of vermin at one time, but, hey! It sounded fun.
Was anyone else on the old DAB forum, circa 2009? I was recently reminded of it, lol.

"I- um, I guess we can go now?" Reina said, nervously. She still couldn't quite take it all in. A squirrel and an otter want to come along and help me, a ferret? This is just... so weird. Am I dreaming? She pinched herself just to make sure.

"Be back in two shakes of a squirrel tail you two!" Russina said, then ran down to the kitchens and grabbed three haversacks and asked a mole maid to help her fill them with traveling food. As quick as possible. It only took about fifteen minutes, then she ran back to her friends, "I'm back! Let's set off, shall we?"

"I have a bow and arrows, a rapier, and a dagger. Do I need more?" Russina said, revealing the weapons. The bow and arrows were in a tube on her back, the rapier in her boot, and the dagger in the back of her belt.

Reina nodded, not replying, her normal shyness having taken over. She was anxious to be off, and so she hurried towards the main gate, adjusting her satchel on her shoulder.

She looked down at her footpaws, catching sight of the yellow ankle bracelet she'd worn for seasons. An overwhelming sense of sadness washed over her. The bracelet had been her mother's gift to her on her 11th birthday. Not long after, her mother, along with the rest of her family, had been killed. Reina herself had barely escaped.

But soon she'd have her revenge.
