Anpan grinned. "Glad you can use it."

She gave her friends a mischievous look. "Did the vermin have tents? Tents can be burned, yes?"

"There was one or two, and of course Mr. Foxy got one. Hah ha, I see where you're coming from! So, Reina, it doesn't matter who kills Creulon, and you don't have any special plans?" Russina said, first smiling wickedly,. then dropping the smile when she addressed Reina. "Just want to make sure."

Feeling slightly more sure of herself, Reina replied, "I - um, well, I've been lookin' for him for seasons now, ever since he killed my family. So I'd rather that I finished him off. But if he tries to get away or somethin', one of you c'n take him out. The main thing is that my family is avenged." Then, in response to the earlier suggestion, she said, "Burnin' the tents sounds like a good idea."

Anpan dug around in her bag. "Oops. I must have forgotten my flint and tinder. Either of you have a tinderbox?"

"No." Reina shook her head. "We, um, could try a knife and stone. Not as good, I guess, but..." she trailed off.

OOC: What's up with your characters burning things, especially tents, Bluerose?

BIC: Russina's jaw dropped. "Neither of you two have a tinderbox? You, young ladies, have just broken one of my top-ten surving-in-Mossflower-Woodsrukles. Always make sure you can start a fire. Well, you're lucky that I ALWAYS carry mine with me." She said, then realized what REina had just said moments before. "Oh, I'm sorry Reina! There's me, nattering on about fire - Or the lack of it - and you've just admitted that that rude-mouthed fox killed your family! I'm sorry!" She exclaimed sincerely.

OOC: A deep-seated hatred for tents and fire ants. Or, really, it's hereditary. I wasn't born when that fiasco happened.

BIC: "I had one, but I lost it a few days back. There was this swamp, see..." Anpan supposed she ought to react to the revelation that her friend had lost her family, but she wasn't quite sure how.

OOC: Fire ants? Tents? What do the two have to do with each other?

"Another rule broken! Really, I'm not too sure it's safe for you to go any farther without me. Wait, where's your walking sticks? We need to ger us each one as soon as possible. I've broken one of my own rules!" Russina cried, then she shook her head sorrowfully. "We're all such ninnies!"

Reina smiled slightly but didn't say anything. She suddenly felt a bit tired. She massaged the corners of her eyes. Then she pulled her knees up and rested her chin on them, waiting for her friends to reach a decision.

OOC: When my mom and older siblings first went camping, fire ants ate them and their tent.

BIC: Anpan laughs. "I got all the way from the coast to here, so I can survive on my own. But then, I swam most of the way." Brandishing her rapier, she looked at a nearby tree. "That looks like walking stick material." Walking up to it in a leisurely manner, she proceeded to have a murmured conversation with it while cutting it expertly. "Sorry, tree. Your sacrifice is for a just cause."

OOC: Ah, I see. I think.

BIC: Russina did the same, only she patted the tree, and rubbed a pawful of dirt onto the trunk. She called to Reina, "Heads up!" She then tossed it to Reina. Russina then went to a different tree and did they same, only kept the stick.

Reina managed to catch the stick Russina tossed her. She stood up and looked at it. This is crazy. Walking sticks? Why do we need walking sticks right now when... ah, whatever. She adjusted her satchel yet again (it had an annoying habit of slipping off her shoulder just when she least wanted it to). Then she stood up and walked over to her friends. "Well, uh, come on, we have to figure out exactly how we're going to carry out our plan."

"Hmm...How about we use fire arrows? I shoot the arrows from a tree, and flush them out, then scramble down the tree and help you guys?" Russina asked, thinking hard.

Jukka the Sling

"Alright. That sounds good to me," Reina responded, once again unable to believe she had such good friends when she was so shy, insecure, quiet, lonely... the list could go on. She squinted up at the sky. Evening shades were falling and dark would set in in a couple of hours.

As the last rays of sun faded from the sky, the ferretmaid and her friends slipped quietly toward the vermin camp.

Russina winked at her friends, then slipped up a tree with a torch, unlighted. She lit it, then quickly wedged somewhere it would not fall, or burn down the tree. She started shooting arrows, sometimes not even aiming for a tent, just for a big group of vermin. When that was done, she blew out the torch and ran down the trunk, and then drew her rapier, nodded, and started racing toward the camp.
