Yeah investigate the oven. There doesn't seem to be any risk in doing that.

Unless it kills us all by exploding.

So yeah, investigate the oven.
"'Tis the business of small minds to shrink, but he whose heart is firm, and whose conscience approves his conduct, will pursue his principles unto death."
-Thomas Paine

"Phew, that stinks. Something's definitely burning."
"Yeah, you're right. Mace! Find the quickest way out of here."
The strange man nods, then walks off. You walk up to the oven and try to touch it.
"YOWCH!"
Five seconds and one oven mitt later, you pull the door of the oven open and retrieve a large baking tray. Whatever was in there originally has been replaced with a large piece of crusty, black gristle.

Baliss got the Gristle.

Shortly later, Amber returns with some water.
"Mace found the way out. Luckily, we found water in here. No food, though."
"Nothing edible, anyway."

Baliss got a bottle of water.

You and Amber follow Mace to the exit, a heavily barred fire door.
"That really the only way out of here?"
Amber shrugs.
"Groddil was the Principal. Who knows what he had the kids doing, no wonder the place is so fortified. Any ideas on how to get through this?"
"Same old trick?"
Amber throws a frying pan at the door, and you go to zap it with the growth ray, but strangely, nothing happens. On the frying pan is a note.

Quote from: Note

Groddy,

Hands off the frying pans, mkey? They're mine!

- Corn

"Welp, that didn't work."
Mace nods.
You look around again, eventually finding a hole in the wall. Inside the hole sits a man in a fancy suit, with his mouth sewn shut.
"Hey, look. It's a dumb waiter."
"..."

Poke the dumb waiter and make raspberry noises.
Try and get out the window to a nearby fire escape.

What kind of choice is the first one? That seems to so random.

I say go out the fire escape, maybe this time it wont be rusty and worn down.

@Groddil: Do remember to update the "people traveling with us" thing and affinities!

I'm not sure which choice is better. The first one seems like it might provoke a reaction, but that isn't necessarily a good thing.

That box is reserved for proper companions. Amber and Mace are leaving you next post anyway, and this whole home ec room fiasco only served to extend the Brockhall part of the story if done in this order. You will be reunited with someone soon...

So the frying pans don't work. Just throw a rock and enlarge it!

Anyways, I believe in leaving alive, so let's not antagonize where it's unnecessary.

Deciding not to provoke the dumb waiter, you pick up a spoon and toss it at the window. One zap of the growth ray later, after the broken glass has been cleared up, you gingerly step out to the fire escape and start heading upwards, with Amber and Mace just behind you. As you reach the top floor, Amber taps on the glass.
"That's her, my sister."
Inside, another squirrel is sitted at an ornate desk, tapping a golden paperweight shaped like a Tasmanian Devil.
"Jukka!"
The squirrel glances at the window. Her eyes widen as she rushes over and opens the window.
"Amber? Mace?"
"Jukka! It's Del, he's finally lost it."
"So, we have to enact... the plan, huh?"
"Yeah. This is Baliss, he saved us from some guests."
"I owe you my thanks, Baliss. Since Mace is here, we can start... the plan immediately. Now, you're the strongest here, and you have more weapons than us. You'll have to take on Delthion."
"But..."
"Don't argue, just take this wacky surgical kit!"

Baliss got the Lobotomizer!
Baliss got the Tranquilizer Pistol.
Baliss got ten Tranquilizer Darts.

"Okay, so one of those things will knock Delthion out, and the other will extract his brain. I don't remember which. So, once you get Del's brain, you put it in this jar and bring it back."

Baliss got the Brain Jar.

Jukka pulls a lever hidden underneath the Tassie Devil Paperweight, causing part of the wall to fall away, revealing an elevator.
"There we go. Groddil's secret escape route."

Ask about Groddil.
Take the elevator.

(No poll, just pick an option)
