What area is Vault 46 in? Mojave? Commonwealth? Capitol Wasteland?

You're listening to VaultFM, your best source of entertainment, here in Vault 46! This just in, straight from the desk of the Overseer! According to our exterior scanners and Geiger Counters, the Earth will become inhabitable again in... Three-hundred and twelve years. Hope you're settled in fine, because we've got a long way to go before Vault 46 returns to the surface, G.E.C.K. in hand, to restore America to what it once was! Have a lovely evening, broadcasts resume at 7am!

James, Aleah, and Carolynn had been looking forward to a nice, long sleep after what had happened today. Several Vault Scientists had rushed to Administration with grave news. The highly radioactive water slowly flooding the Vault's lower reactor level is a result of structural damage caused over the past 200 years. They discovered that the walls in a particular section of the Vault were much thinner, and had been steadily buckling under the pressure of water from the nearby lake. The three of you took the information directly to Overseer Gryphon, who gave strict instructions to keep your mouths shut. Nevertheless, it's late at night, and you've been called back to his office.
"James, Aleah, Lynn. I've called you here because the Vault is in danger. Plain and simple, straight to the point. James, you've served me well as Chief of Security ever since Old Man Nellis passed last year, which is why I'm placing you in charge of this expedition. Lynn, I'm impressed at how well you've handled your position as Shift Supervisor, even though you said after the G.O.A.T. that you weren't suited to the position. I'm not as young as I used to be, girl, which is why, if you succeed, you'll have shown me that I need no more convincing in promoting you to Overseer in my stead. And Aleah, like James, I am indebt to you for how you have assisted me in keeping the peace. The riots a few months back would have caused significant damage, especially because of what I am about to say, had it not been for your quick-thinking and the information you provided me with."
The Overseer clears his throat.
"Ladies, Gentleman, our cameras outside the Vault have reported that the water levels of the radioactive lake outside the Vault have risen following a recent landslide. This includes outside the Vault Door. In short, the surface of the lake is now about fifty feet above the Vault exit. Which is why I need the three of you to leave the Vault as soon as possible. There is another way out, which I've kept quiet about. The only problem is that this particular exit leads to a collapsed cave. I secretly had excavations done, but on the other side of the collapse are some sort of mutant... things. Huge claws, scaly skin, and twice the size of a man. I had the cave re-collapsed and told everyone involved to never speak of it again. You need to find help. Find a way to kill those things and clear the cave. Excavating it from here took months. The Vault doesn't have that amount of time, so you're our only hope. Luckily, Vault-Tec must have anticipated that something would happen, so our vault was stocked with ten Radiation suits, oxygen tanks included. You, along with a team of Security Officers, can use them as impromptu scuba suits to get to the surface and find any remains of civilization. It's imperative that you hurry, before the walls collapse in on themselves. Oh, and there's also a few old rifles with the Radiation suits, just in case."

In the Vault's diner, Sargon Levisham is starting to pack up his things, as the diners begin to disperse. Soon, only three others are in the room with him. Kit, one of the Vault's waste burners, sits at a table tinkering with his flamer. Jack Maturin, the Vault's doctor, finishing off his drink. Must have been a long day, having to keep 1000 dwellers healthy. He was just lucky that there was more than one diner. Jack had to do his job alone, bar a few assistants. Speaking of assistants, the only other member of the diner staff is washing a cleaver under the tap, when it starts spewing out slightly green water.
"Hey, Sargon. Something's up."
Sargon walks over to the tap, as the water starts to congeal in the basin.
"Must be a problem with the water purifier."
Suddenly, a klaxon goes off in the corner of the diner. Out in the hallway, the wall seems to explode, water gushing in. Kit rushes over to the door and shuts it, just in time. The door starts to buckle. Jack opens the diner's rear door. It's dry. Sargon's assistant pokes his head through the door.
"It's dry, we need to get out of-"
A giant cockroach, known as a Radroach by Vault Dwellers, leaps onto the fry cook's neck, sinking its fangs deep into his neck. He slashes out with the cleaver, but to no avail. It falls limply out of his hand. Sargon grabs the cleaver, and Kit switches on his flamer. A few more of the Radroaches start swarming in to the room.

OOC: Deal with the Roaches, then get the heck out of the Vault. You'll need to get to the Main Entrance; I'll guide you there.

Outside the Overseer's office, one of the Secretaries screams.
"Sir! The water!"
A huge rush of water sweeps the Secretary away. Overseer Gryphon practically jumps to his terminal, and hits several switches. The door slams shut, hydraulic locks seal it in place, and a heavy steel blast door closes in front of it. A few seconds later, his desk rises from the ground, revealing a service tunnel.
"Apparently, all Vaults have one of these. It'll take you straight to the Main Entrance, get out of here! I'll activate as many systems as I can to save the vault, and get as many Dwellers as I can to the atrium. You have to get that other entrance open, or everyone here is going to die."
He yells into the intercom.
"All Dwellers, make your way to the Atrium. Security Team 4, head to the main entrance."

OOC: Same old, go through the service tunnel to the Main Entrance. I'll chuck in some threats as you go.

Kitsune

OOC: Is the Stimpak reusable? And how big are these Radroaches? And could I handle the flamer in one hand, or would I need two?

Kitsune

OOC: Alright, thanks!

BIC: Kit jumped up when he saw the fry cook get killed by one of the roaches. He grabbed his flamer, and blasted it in the face of one that was skittering up to him. It screeched, then collapsed, the front half of it blackened and it's face crumbling off.

"How many are there?!" he shouted, firing his flamer at a few more who were getting too close.

Lady Ashenwyte

"Not too many. They're the least of our concerns here!" Sargon cut a radroach in half after a brief struggle, and engaged the next one. "Be careful with that flamethrower, Kit. I may fry things, but I don't want to be fried!"

"Yes sir," said James automatically. His mouth was dry, but his body was ready. Feeling slightly more comfortable with his security armor, James climbed down into the tunnel.

As Kit and Sargon fought off the Radroaches, the sound of footsteps echoes down the hall. Five Vault Security Officers rush into the diner, helping to crush the Roaches with their batons.
"What are you still doing here? All Dwellers are to get to the Atrium, now!"
"The other way out's flooded." Someone says.
"Damn it! Okay, follow us, we'll take you there!"
You follow the security guards down the corridor, which is now starting to slowly fill with water. By the time it reaches your knees, one of the Guards stares down another corridor.
"You have got to be kidding me! The way to the Atrium's blocked."
"We'll have to take 'em the long way."
"Yeah, you're right. They can get to the Atrium from the entrance."
"Why are you going to the entrance?" Says someone.
"Saving the Vault."
All of a sudden, from the flooded corridor bursts some sort of huge, lobsterlike creature.

It spits a glob of acid at one of the Guards, who goes down in seconds. The others try to fend off the creature's huge claws.
"Get to the Entrance! RUN!"
One of the guards tosses Jack a keycard, just before the creature's claw crushes his skull.
You spy the door ahead. Locked. A nearby terminal, marked as door control, seems to have a keycard slot...

{Sage, Sand, Eul}

As you enter the service tunnel, there seems to be two ways to go. One is relatively dry, the other starting to fill up. The Overseer comes up behind you, pumping a shotgun.
"Head left. You might have to swim, but it'll take you straight to the entrance. Watch out for those crab things, and keep your weapons ready."
He jogs down the drier of the two tunnels.

Curling a lip at the foul water, James started through the muck, hoping the other two would follow suit.

Jack Maturin, who had been living in peace until this rapid flow of terrible events was rather taken aback. Nevertheless he quickly swiped the key card and ran to the now unlocked door, gesturing madly for the survivors to follow him.

Kit and Sargon follow Jack through the door, which leads to a maintenance corridor, knee-deep with water. As the three Dwellers start to wade through it, Kit looks back over his shoulder. The three surviving guards manage to push the creature back, and run through the door. One of them takes the keycard from Jack and relocks the door. At the other end of the corridor is a door, marked "Main Entrance." As the Dwellers start to make their way there, the crab-like creature's acidic spit melts a hole in the door, and it dashes after you.

{Sage, Sand, Eul}

As the other three Vault Dwellers make their way through the filthy service tunnel, James, who is in the lead, pushes open a door, leading into a seemingly empty room. Inside is a switch, and not much else.

Kitsune

Kit spun around at the sound of the door being melted. "Oh, for the love of..." He took out his wrench and threw it at the creature, then hefted his burner and blasted it and the creature's face.

Lady Ashenwyte

"Get the legs or torso! D'you have a pistol of any sort? More firepower's going to bring it down."
